I'm not saying it's a good thing that so many of our programs have criminals on them. I'm saying let's stop pretending that this is an exception case and that Miles is unusual in his approach.
I'd LOVE to believe that Alabama has a different type of high character player who never gets in trouble. But all you have to do is look at Rolando McClain - a guy we thought was all class and a great leader.
(and I won't even begin to get into the auburn insanity of "family" and "it's a God thing")
Let's just start dealing with this honestly, and stop scapegoating individual coaches and teams for a system WE perpetuate.
I agree, I think all programs should hold to a higher standard. And I know college kids will be college kids, they drink, get in fights, etc. But when things escalate to violent crimes or sexual crimes, it's time to stop playing games. There is a difference between a college kid who does something dumb and a criminal.

Well said. No one is privy to all the details of this case and I'm also sure no one on this board roots for a program/team that is completely above reproach all the time.
Do any of you get nose bleeds from being on your high horse all the time?

What? Do you expect him to be complimentary of a Coach that recruited a rapist and then just ignores it when the player and his buddy high five after they have both sucker punched a smaller guy?
This whole situation is really giving LSU a lot of bad publicity and is hurting Les Miles' reputation also. Why haven't they cut this guy loose?

Let's remember...after Hill's carnal knowledge arrest, LSU pulled its offer and LSU was not the first school to pursue Hill after the arrest. Another school tried to get Hill to enroll in August 2011. Bama

When you see the horse in front of you slowly but surely pulling away, you do one of two things. You consider the sanctity of the race and lose with grace, or you do whatever it takes to win. Miles seems to be in the second camp.

How many did Janoris Jenkins fail without getting the boot from Urban? How many arrests did it take for Muschamp to finally kick him off?
Just to put it in perspective...Mathieu was never arrested while part of the LSU football team. Jenkins failed multiple tests at Florida and didn't get the boot from two different coaches until he was arrested THREE times.

Yeah, suspending our star RB indefinitely before any actual legal recourse is so seedy and unethical.
You realize he hasn't had any contact or work with the team since April, right? No, that doesn't fit your narrative. Just keep trolling away, man.

Miles has failed because he's allowed himself to even be in a discussion with Urban Meyer. Just to put it in perspective.

Yeah, none of Alabama's players get in trouble. They may as well be running a convent over there.

Meyer had a third of his 2008 team arrested at some point.
That is not the case with Miles. Unfortunately, some of the few LSU players who have been in trouble have been high profile players like Perrilloux, Mathieu, and Hill.
Look at the numbers. LSU is one of the best in the league in terms of player discipline, this year and nearly every year.

Not while they were on the team.

Oh you mean the numbers that don't include players that were not on the team?
Point is, Miles opened himself up to this by giving a scholarship to Hill in the first place.

You guys don't like it when someone bursts your little bubble of bullshite. Same reason you hate Gregg Doyel for speaking the truth.

So the fact that he chose LSU over just about every SEC school makes MILES the bad guy? Got it.

You are the only one on here spewing bullshite, acting like an LSU fan when you are actually an A&M fan. frick off, bro. You're wrong.

Wrong. The fact that other schools offered him doesn't make it right or excuse the lack of judgement from Miles.
