Sadly, people inside and out of the SEC now know otherwise. The message delivered by this incident is that the SEC has a weak commissioner.

What happens when more important issues come up in the future, such as negotiating TV contracts for the league? Will the SEC be in good hands when the people sitting across the table know that Sankey can easily be pushed around and frustrated?

I don't really think an issue between LSU and UF is going to make ESPN all giddy thinking they can get over on the SEC.

Perhaps you are right and I'm wrong though. Maybe ESPN is celebrating all the way to the bank with this new knowledge that Sankey is weak.

Does rubbing each others vaginas ease the pain? Sorry not sorry. Game in DV. Deal with it.

Sankey could have avoided all this shite if he drew his own dam line. Needed LSU to draw it so he didn't look like a bad guy. Baby back bitch.

What is there to deal with but melted LSU fans?

I like the solution. I was thinking LSU held all the cards and we would have to play there three years in a row. Seemed like a fair way to solve the problem to me.

Serious question: Do you think Greg Sankey came out looking good from this incident? Did his prestige take a hit?

This is a non-story nationally now. It's a non-story across most of the SEC now.

It will all be forgotten.

I don't know what was said in their meetings. I don't know the reasoning each side used to make their arguments for or against each scenario.

Also, I'm not sure Sankey had any prestige prior to this dust up. Not many knew his name prior to this.

How many of those traveling schools demanded the game be played at their home stadium?

Said we would play in GV. Foley said no. Foley kept saying no to any LSU proposal.

Jeremy Foley flat out stated on Wednesday before the game that "The game will be played in Gainesville on Saturday at 12:00 AM". I guess Sankey was busy eating boogers while Foley drew his line in the sand. The comment about becoming concerned on Monday shows Sankey's utter incompetence. The time to become concerned was the Monday or Tuesday before the game when everyone in Baton Rouge was looking to Sankey and saying "the hurricane is heading for the Florida coast, what are we going to do?"

True enough, but the title of SEC Commissioner carries tremendous gravitas. This is mostly due to the vision and accomplishments of Roy Kramer and Mike Slive. We shouldn't be naive to think it can't erode away.

This incident was not a good look for the SEC. Sankey will almost certainly be tested again. Hopefully he will perform better, but at this point I doubt the commissioners of the Big 10, ACC, Pac 10, NCAA, etc. are very concerned about having to sit down across the table from him should a dispute arise.

I have no idea what was said but apparently Sankey and Foley feel the same way.

Yeah, because those are the two jackasses that were responsible for the cancellation in the first place and the two that thought the solution would be as easy as the problem they caused.

Since we are still talking about this may I ask a question? Does anyone else see the hypocrisy in Sankey and Foley very publicly chastising Joe Alleva for publicly "drawing a line in the sand"? Isn't that two pots calling the kettle black?
