Dick Butkus was better than V.Y.
Pat Sullivan won the Hiesman, and is a super nice guy, sometimes this plays in.

Few things:
Cam was only there one season, so he was essentially batting 1.000 on being elite. Barry rode the bench most of his career up to the end. If you're the GOAT, you dont' sit on the bench.
Also, Cam led his team to the ultimate prize..undefeated national champs. Barry led his team to 2 losses (one by 3 touchdowns) and a holiday bowl.

I hate to say it, but if I had to pick one person for my college team it would be Cameron Newton. Dudes team sucked before he got there. He came in and won many of there games almost by himself. When he left they sucked again. I hate him with a passion, but he killed it...
