I don't know that you understand, from an Auburn perspective, what living with/growing up with the Bear being the head coach at your arch rival. He whipped our arse for 9 years straight, kicked arse in the SEC and nationally and never missed an opportunity to get a dig in on "that school down the road". Coach Bryant wasn't just the coach at UA, he was UA. I can't speak for every Auburn person, but for me, I don't hate the man, never have, but he is the face of Bama for a generation of people. After his death, the Bama nation (if they are honest) went into a prolonged stretch of Bear worship, which still lingers to some degree today.
Basically, to me, that Bear picture isn't hatred directed at Coach Bryant, but at Bama. And humor that is possibly in poor taste is never funny to the people or group involved.
