Great podcast in reference to LSU being “the biggest brand in all of college sports”

And there is not really a competition for the #1 spot considering the amount and variety of success across the board LSU has in the athletic program. Here’s more…..it begins at the 17:20 mark.

The value of a brand is more than just its list of national championships of which LSU has 51. For perspective, look at this list of most valuable NBA franchises. The NY Knicks are more valuable than both the Boston Celtics and the LA Lakers.

List is stupid. No one pays more for a historically crap NBA team in a smaller marker like Golden State over historically successful teams with much larger fan bases like the NY Knicks and LA Lakers.
People buy franchises because of the market, not because of one player close to retirement.
