Kenny Trill
Greyson Lambert
People thought these guys were good, then Alabama effectively ended their careers.
For whatever reason, great players usually play well against Alabama
Far be it from me to defend the sips, but didn't Colt play all of about 3 snaps against Bama before you effectively ripped his arm off?
Not sure I can put that on him.

Yup. Ingram won the Heisman based off of his '09 performance against USC.
But Julio Jones, Sammy Watkins, Tajh Boyd, AJ Green, and Aaron Murray were all average against USC.

There was a span of 6 years in the late 80's where A&M played 5 Heisman winners.
We owned them every time (well, sort of).
'85 - Bo (Actually 1986 Cotton Bowl): OK, he was still offensive MVP, but we won going away and stopped him twice on 4th down in last quarter.
'87 - Tim Brown (Actually 1988 Cotton Bowl): The In-Timmy-dation game where he lost his cool at the end and was ejected in a blow out.
'88 - Barry Sanders: We held him to his 2nd lowest yardage of the season. OK, it was still something like 165 yards, and we lost by 37, but we sucked a lot less than most.
'89 - Andre Ware: The Run & Shoot meets the Blitz & Destroy (Slocum's words). UH came in undefeated and averaging about 92 points a game. We won 17-13 and sacked Ware 6 times, including once that looked like he was decapitated.
'90 - Ty Detmer: BYU complains that they deserve a better bowl opponent than A&M. We win 65-14 (and it was not that close) and separate BOTH of his shoulders.

Groza Winner Alexis Serna missed 3 XP's against LSU in a game decided by 1 point
Groza runner up John Vaughn missed 5 FG's against LSU in a game decided by 3 points

quote:Part of that poor performance was due to a bruised knee he suffered on the first carry of the 2nd half. If memory serves, Brent Fullwood spelled him the rest of the way and had over 100 yards. But the game was already over by that point (24-0 at half).
Bo Jackson - 1985
UT held him to 80 yards on 15 carries. He came into the game averaging 275 yards per game that season.
The real story of that game was Tony Robinson running all over our defense.

Better answer for AU:
Croyle finished as the most prolific passer in UA history at the time, setting career records for attempts, completions, yards (season and career), and TDs (career, tied with Mike Shula for season).
His combined stat line against AU for three games:
33-70 (47%) for 370 yards, 1 TD, 3 INTs, 16 sacks
Two of his 70 attempts (a 41 yarder in '02 and a 34 yarder in '05) accounted for 20% of his career yardage total against AU. His lone TD pass came in '03 with one minute to play in a game that was essentially over. And due to his season-ending injury early in '04, he didn't even play against one of the best teams in AU history.
