Actually that ended in Jacksonville a few weeks later.

only the most delusional of the disneys truly thought we had a shot at the national championship beyond that point. that game was to save face and instead richt and co took an enormous step backwards.

believe me i know that game all too well. skipped a night of drinking on halloween right after playing our homecoming game just so i could drive down with a buddy and watch the game only to see Georgia basically lose 49-3, that last TD was a fricking joke. i didn't even leave at half like everyone else because by god i drove down to watch the game. so i watched, along with 1,500 other loyal fans who were also gluttons for punishment, mark richt continued to pile on to that shite sandwich he had given us.

it was somewhere between that game and losing to georgia tech where my fuze began to snap toward richt. losing to colorado 2 years later basically broke the levee.

Y'all still had a good chance to play for a title going into that game. Both teams were basically ranked the same (since we lost to Ole Miss the same day as the Bama loss).

i think we were 8th. it wasn't that we couldn't go but after seeing what happened vs Alabama and seeing what team had ended up becoming there was no way we'd make it. obviously i hoped so but deep down everyone knew it was an uphill battle. i just wasn't aware we were going to get completely annihilated and then give up.

and that's what happened that game, the players and coaches gave up

I give you credit, I thought all the Georgia fans left at halftime like they usually do.

BTW, 1995>>>2008 in that we stuck it to Georgia way more in 95 than we did in 2008. Urbs just didn't have the hate for Georgia Spurrier did. I sure do miss the OBC as we have the same disdain for the mutts.
