In 2012, Steve Spurrier takes his #3 ranked team into Death Valley but comes up empty handed against an up and down LSU team while losing 23-21.

Earlier in the spring, the Gamecock baseball team has the opportunity to win the SEC on their home field while ranked #2 in all the land, yet is defeated by the undisputed kings of SEC baseball in extra innings who take home the league crown.

In 2014, Frank Martin takes his potential final 4 team to Baton Rouge after beating Iowa State and no one else of note but loses a nail biter after leading most of the second half.

You still have a shitty defensive coordinator. Flaming South Carolina won't change that.

In 2000, the South Carolina baseball team came into Baton Rouge on the final weekend of the regular season with an incredible 24-3 record in SEC play, only to lose 2 of 3 to the Tigers.

The Gamecocks would be swept out of the Super Regionals three weeks later at home to UL-Lafayette.

Care to discuss the last time SC and LSU met in Omaha? It was more recent than 2000... as was the last time LSU didn't make it the to the tournament.

Also, gcockboi has this ALT guy so rattled about a basketball thread he had to start a thread about a football game nearly a decade ago.

Honestly, IDGAF about football or baseball. I'm that rare SEC fan that didn't go to UK. It's fun for us to have some bragging rights after the Trent Johnson error

That time y'all beat us in the loser's bracket and neither of us won it all?

Big time moment, for sure.

Anthony Grant has been to the tournament more times than your coach... And he's gonna get fired.

Which sent you into a downward spiral, with an end result of a sweep at the hand of our infant brother UL-L.

ETA: Oh, and propelled LSU to conference tournament and national titles.

Eliminating a team yourself > Beating them in the regular season and then an in-state team eliminating them.

eta: I'll await your response on explaining how beating a team in the regular season is better than a win in Omaha.

In 2000, we won the national title.

In 2004, South Carolina didn't.

So yeah, not seeing the connection.

What the hell does that have to do with anything?

Beating SC in the regular season = national title.

Me neither.

eta: I get it though. You're trying to connect two things that don't connect to try to rationalize how any win in the regular season is ever better than a win in Omaha.
