Just looked it up. Never made it past the 2nd Round in 12 years.

How many SEC Titles and SEC Tournament Championships has your Beloved Liar uhh..... I mean Coach Bruce Pearl won??????

Stans is a hell of a coach who makes the most out of one of the smallest budgets in the entire SEC.

He won an outright regular season title in 2007. He also came into a much worse program than Stansbury. It was the first regular season title in 41 years.

He has also advanced farther in the Big Tournament than Stansbury 3 more times in 7 fewer years.

bullshite! Yall have an arena that holds twice as much as ours and a budget probably 10X more than ours. Tennessee basketball wasnt as bad as you are making it sound to be Wade Houston, Jerry Green and Buzz Peterson werent good coaches but they weren't bad. Greene won 26 games made the sweet 16 in 2000.

Stansbury inherited a team that went 12-18 and 15-15 the two previous years before he got the job. Pearl inherited a team that was 15-14 and 14-17 the two years before he took over. Sounds very similar to me.

Pearl didnt inherit a program any worse than Mississippi State.

Outside of Kentucky and UF(somewhat), LSU is one of the top basketball schools in the conference tradition wise. Wish people would go to the games.

The home crowd for the MSU/LSU game in BR last year was pathetic.

The crowds were pretty good 2 years ago when we won the SEC. Last year was awful, but so was the team. Overall, LSU hasn't had top crowds since the Dale Brown era in the 80's

Any particular reason you chose two years? Is it possibly because if you went to 3 years it would be:

Final Four, 12-18, 15-15
NIT, 15-14, 14-17

Stansbury had players from a Final Four team in his program and he went to the NIT in his first year, Pearl didn't have any players who made the NCAA and he was a 2 seed in the 'AAs in his first year.

Im not trying to say that Stansbury is a better coach, Im just saying that Pearl walked into a better job than Stans did. FWIW only 2 players from the 96 Final Four team were on the 99 team and only one of them even played any in the 96 NCAA tourney.

You arent mentioning facilities and recruiting budget. Tenn has one of the top 5 arenas in terms of capacity and one of the largest recruiting budgets in America. Pearl used that to his advantage. Stansbury has made due with what he has, and has done a great job.

Both are great coaches and it wouldnt surprise me if they meet in the finals of the SEC tourney this March.

I know when I was was growing up, After Kentucky, LSU was the other basketball program in the SEC. Use to be some great games too. I'm not sure the young LSU fans realize this.

I remember when I was a kid in the early 90's when LSU had Chris Jackson and Shaq they were always one of the top teams in the SEC. Having Arkansas move to the SEC kinda put them as the third fiddle behind UK and Arky. Dale Brown was a great coach, I had the opportunity to talk to him one and he's one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet.

ETA: I had always been a fan of Stansbury until I saw how poorly his team was prepared to play at the end of the season this year. Getting run by Tennessee at your own house when you're on the bubble is unacceptable imo

His teams never do anything at the end of the year. He's one of the worst div. 1 x's and o's coaches I've ever seen. But he recruits well enough to contend for the west every year, which leads to nothing in the post-season. That's why people don't like him, but you can't say he should go.

Gottfried was the same way. We finally decided to move on.

Don't apologize if OM was worth a shite in bball I would post shite about it too. Too bad our coach likes valour jumpsuits and trim more than coaching bball.

I actually like Andy Kennedy, and think he's a good coach who has just had a lot of BAD luck with injuries. Ole Miss will be a bubble team this year IMO.
