LSU

Offense:

Running game is exactly what we thought it would be. It is going to carry us for all but 2 or 3 games this year.

Passing game is really, really concerning. Initially I thought that Harris was going to be a competent QB and make the easy throws when he needs to. However, it seems our passing game consists of throwing the ball deep and hoping for a PI call. We have hit the TE over the middle a couple times this year, but most of the time we only have 1 or 2 WRs actually running a route. Bama and Florida have the defense to slow down our rushing attack. We have to figure out a way to move the ball in those games.

Offensive grade: C-

Defense:

You can't really complain about the defense in a game where you intercept the ball 3 times and take one back for a touchdown. However, EMU was able to move the ball on some drives. LSU has still not faced a physical team that is going to run the ball and try to dominate the LOS. With our thin DL, those types of games worry me.

Defense grade: B

Special teams:

Our kick coverage has been pitiful this year, and it is going to come back to hurt us.

Special teams grade: D-

It's incredibly frustrating. They ran a curl route early in the game to Dural and never tried it again. They had a slip screen set up perfectly for LF but Harris led him too much, and they never went back to it. I don't understand how you can have two serviceable pass-catching TEs in Jeter and Smith and NEVER use them.

Offensive grade: B+

Ran the ball 47 times to passing the ball 16 times. May have found our #1 receiver in Ridley. Henry did good pounding the rock and breaking a few good runs. I hope this is one of many games where Henry gets the ball 26 times. Wish they would get Drake more involved in the passing. Offensive line played well other than one bad snap.

Defensive grade: A

Secondary got 3 picks yesterday, including one returned for a touchdown. Despite the rain, which I think gives the receivers an advantage, they held their own against a good player like Mitchel. Defensive front played great. Payne, Reed, and Allen all generated a good rush and affected the QB. I think Alabama leads the nation in batting balls down at the LOS. Would like to see Ragland get some more looks at JACK. Linebackers showed to be one of the tops in the nation. Prior to the 80+ yard run, held Chubb to 3.5 YPC. Take away the 83 yard run and Chubb has 63 yards. So defense played great overall

Special teams: A+

Blocked punt, Cyrus had some nice returns, punt coverage was nice, kick coverage was nice, and Adam Griffith hit a FG. Great game

Offense: Finally got back to run-predicating. Mistake free offense. (A couple times the Jet Sweep still pissed me off.)
Verdict - B+

Defense: Pretty damn good.
Verdict - A+

Special Teams: JK Scott had a few good punts, but outside of that it appears his leg is still not the same. Good kick and punt coverage. Adam Griffith did everything asked of him.
Verdict - B

We gave up a rushing TD, a passing TD, a blocked punt for a TD, and an interception for a TD.

We scored 10 points, our lowest output since the SECCG in 2011.

We tried to talk shite to a better, more proven program IN THE frickING PREGAME.

We played like a wet paper bag full of limp dicks but we won so I can't complain too much.

Offense: B+

They did a great job scoring points and making plays but there were way, way too many penalties and sloppy plays to give them an A grade.

Defense: B+

Defense did a good job bottling up Chubb except for the 83 yard run. I just can't give them an A-grade because the Georgia QB(s) were absolutely awful. Was it more great play by Bama's defense or woeful play by the opposing team?

Special teams: A+

Bobby Williams earned his paycheck for the first time in ages. Yesterday might have been the best special teams performance by Bama since 2009.
