This new law sounds fine, maybe even like a good idea.

But the bottom line is that we're now at the mercy of California legislation. Just look at their city streets to see the wisdom in their governance

These new laws are really going to impact schools like MS State, who rely on illegal payments to field a football team.

Uh, it's California. They ruin everything they touch.

In all seriousness though, California's law isn't worth the shite on the street it's written on.

NCAA decides if players get paid or not. If the players don't like it, they're free to go play for a non-NCAA school.

At least Tennessee was ahead of the curve and got rid of football a decade ago.

The only reason I live in MS over CA is the cost of living. It kicks our arse in every other way. Sorry if this offends.

The NCAA needs the players. Not the other way around.

Definitely wins in the "Number of homeless" and "Amount of shite on the street" categories.

No doubt. CA has infinitely greater resources than MS.

Uh, no. Players have no shot at the NFL without playing for a NCAA school. And they know this.

And ridiculous amount of taxes. And illegals. And crazy liberals. California better be glad it has good weather.

Unfortunately lots of lawyers will be lining up to file class action suits to force the NCAA to comply and to force the NFL to comply

The NCAA loses players after 4 years of eligibility. The NCAA is constantly losing players and doing just fine.

I'm all for kids going pro out of high school. If they aren't student athletes, that is where they should be if they are good enough. NFL players union is against it though.

people slamming California have probably never been there. San Diego is as nice as any City in America.

They just listen to the idiots on TV telling them it's a hell hole, when it's not.

Not as it currently stands. Once it starts to unravel the NFL will step in and make sure of two things:

1. The young talent will still get developed
2. All of that TV money will not just go away
