Good Morning. Remember when Arky hired Bert after he went to three consecutive Rose Bowls?

This board felt like Arkansas had just hired the next Saban. Well at least on their end. The rest of the SEC knew it was going to fail. It was actually the Jimbo before the Jimbo happened.

Good times. Wonder if they’re doomed to repeat their mistake

Are we on a Brian Kelly vs Bert deal now? I guess you already moved on to football, usually your only mouthing baseball in April.

Bert wasn't too bad. He was a few plays away from winning the West in 2015.

Yes it did. Arkansas fans would tell us that Bert brought Wisconsin to three Rose Bowls. Imagine what he can do with SEC talent!

Was that before or after Bert became a raging alcoholic?

Damn getting swept in Fayetteville really triggered you if you're already talking football

I can almost hear the clik click click clicking of all the Arkansas, Texas, Bama, A&M, Kentucky, et al, fans bookmarking all of these comparative "who hired the biggest failure" threads (this week) for their future bumping pleasure.

We are tough on our fellow fanbases (are we not) when someone who has no clue that we exist (in most cases) hires someone that has no clue that we exist (in every single case except for one, that I know of) ....... and then that someone agrees to be paid an insane amount of money while he/she proceeds (presumably) to try to win championships in (pick any sport) in the toughest league in the country, among the most demanding fans in the country ..... and for what? Fame? Fortune? Immortality?

1 in 1000 might actually pull it off (success, to some degree) yet we make these arbitrarily comparative predictions and consider ourselves geniuses when they come true when, in fact, the odds are that they will come true .... that the hire will NOT realize successon a grandiose scale.

Not to mention the well known probability that said hires usually, eventually, self destruct for some obvious reason (imho sudden, filthy frick you riches combined with gigantic egos and glowing adoration from a desperate fanbase will usually lead to failure) that was glaringly apparent from the very get-go .... retrospectively speaking of course. You should have seen it coming all along.

For every new hire (example Bert at Ark or Jimbo at A&M), for every jump from one SEC program to another (example Tubberville from Ole Miss to Auburn or Houston Nutt from Arkansas to Ole Miss or Cal from UK to AR), for every firing/retiring and hiring somewhere else (example Muschamp from Florida to SC) and for every mothballed hire (example Holtz to SC or Freeze to Auburn or Danny Ford from CU to AR or Spurrier from obscurity to SC) ..... one should be required to not just predict/wish for epic failure, but also predict why.

There are so many (sic) bookmarkable examples in this league, in this online community.

Try it.

Some of us knew that Bert was going-to-be an epic failure because he was a lazy, lacking any self esteem, fat frick.

Every UF fan, and most Gamecock fans (unfortunately not including myself), knew Muschamp was going to fail because he is a pathologically egomaniacal paranoid dick.

Did Tubberville ever fail per se?

How did we end up judging Nutt before, during and after his jumps? I can't remember .... was he fired by Arkansas before Ole Miss hired him? So he would actually fall into the Muschamp category if that's the case.

We can be so incestuous in this conference when it comes to coaches ..... I mean holy Lane Kiffin folks. How do we even qualify him knowing he might very well jump to Bama three, four or five years from now after what he did to UT and after the success he may have at Ole Miss.

It's all so frickin crazy. But it is fun to watch and a lot of it is bookmarkable, albeit unremarkable when again considering the chances are there will be failure .... failure everywhere.

I've always thought bugpaintrain7 was texag7. they had a very similar want to be liked early on in their posting history.

i think bugapaintrain7 went off the rails because everyone was saying they were nailing his gf at mississippi st or some shite
