The 2–9 is just absolutely bizarre. That's far worse than losing it to a defensive player. I wish the country could just collectively stop giving a shite about that stupid award.

Agree 100%

I should also add that the reason many UT fans have a dislike for ESPN is that they basically campaigned for Woodson in 97.

Who's been in the running?

I'm pretty sure Heath Shuler and John Majors.

Maybe
Steve Kiner
Conredge
Reggie White
Willie Gault

So you are going to split hairs over two future HOFers? Both with Super Bowl rings, one with a NC as well? One of only three players in NFL history to intercept 50+ passes and record 25+ sacks in a career? You want to talk shite about Woodson?

They were never really part of the big 6. 97-98 was almost 20 years ago. They have become irrelevant

Heisman has nothing to do with being a championship team. Thread is pointless.

Actually, Tennessee was the off season national champs and Josh Dobbs was the off season Heisman winner so thread is not needed.

Yeah I guess Charles Woodson and his ability as a cornerback/punt returner is more valuable than Peyton's ability as a quarterback.

Yeah, you're gonna convince everyone with this gem.

When was OM relevant again? Tell me about how you were one 4th down away from winning the West this season.

This is pure gold from a fan whose team has one 10 win season EVER, and I'd have to ask my granddad to tell me about it.

In other words, the 2015 Tennessee team would be one of Ole Miss's 3 or 4 best ever, and the 2016 Tennessee team would quite likely be Ole Miss's best team ever hands down.

Something to consider:

Mike DuBose
Dennis Franchione
Mike Shula

all managed to have a 10-win season at Alabama

Wow.

Consider this :

Even South Carolina has managed THREE- 10 win regular seasons

Ole Miss has managed ZERO

The last time Ole Miss played in a Sugar Bowl (1969), the Superdome had not even been built yet.

UT is totally and completely irrelevant to modern college football. They are not a part of a big anything. They haven't won an SEC title in almost 20 years and hired their 5th choice as HC. Think about that, 4 coaches told UT to frick OFF before they had to settle for Lyle.

Pitiful.

Are you trying to say that an heisman candidates future NFL season should dictate whether or not they win the award? Seems legit. What is your prefered method of time travel? Delorean or Primer style box?
