Auburn > LSU since we went to the "gimmick" offense.

Is that why yall've won 1 and lost 2 to us in that time span? Bc you're better?

I don't think rb is your problem. Bama and LSU have great run blocking offensive lines. At least when our starting center plays.

No that's why we've gone undefeated won the national title produced a Hesiman winner and won another SEC title and played for a national title and were :13 seconds away from winning a second in one of the best BCS title games of the era.

You guys had a good regular season in 2011 going for you though.

Who would actually hold that team under 40 points outside of maybe Michigan or Bama?

Let's look at the defenses they've faced:

Scoring Defense:

SMU (allows 45 ppg, Baylor scored 56)
Lamar (allows 36 ppg, Baylor scored 66)
Rice (allows 38 ppg, Baylor scored 70)
Texas Tech (allows 37 ppg, Baylor scored 63)
Kansas (allows 43 ppg, Baylor scored 66)
West Virginia (allows 27 ppg, Baylor scored 62)

Of those schools, only West Virginia is anywhere close to a marginal defense.

They still have to face the following teams:

Iowa State (allows 32 points per game)
Kansas State (allows 30 points per game)
Oklahoma (allows 19 points per game)
Oklahoma State (allows 20 points per game)
Texas (allows 35 points per game)
TCU (allows 27 points per game)

One or more of those that allows fewer than 20 will neuter Baylor just enough to shred the mediocre pass defense of theirs.

You wonder why teams like Ole Miss, Auburn, Texas A&M raise and fall so quickly, while Bama and LSU are typically near the top. LSU and Bama are built on Defense and running offense. It's hard to stop a power running team when they have a solid line up front.

LSU--Do you ever wonder why Bama treats you like a $10 whore on Bourbon Street the last few years? Is it because they have more talent or because Saban insists Miles refer to him as sir. I don't think this year will be any different in T-Town.

This thread is dumb mainly because all offenses fail against great defenses. It doesn't matter if they run, pro or spread. Not allowing any offense score is what makes them a great defense.

Is there more than one stratosphere?

Baylor is pass happy with some stud WR"s. I would be shocked if they won a national title the way they play.

Baylor may make the playoff this year, but I wouldn't put a penny on them winning the title.

I know you are new around here but LSU has won the SEC Championship in 2001, 2003, 2007 & 2011. And, we currently lead in our division standings.

OP is retarded. AU's "gimmick" offense that "can't run the ball" was the #1 rushing offense in America in 2013 and put up 300 yards of rushing against bammer that year (when bammer hardly ever gave up more than 100). AU put up well over 500 yards (300+ yards rushing) on Mizzou in the SECCG and Mizzou statistically had one of the best defenses in the SEC. As for SEC rankings, AU was obviously #1 and it wasn't close.

AU: 4596 total rushing yards / 6.30 YPA / 328 YPG

Arkansas: 2504 total yards / 5.28 YPA/ 208 YPG

bammer: 2673 total yards / 5.80 YPA / 205 YPG

LSU: 2630 total yards / 5.03 YPA / 202 YPG

In 2013, Mizzou was the 2nd best rushing team in the league. This means two "gimmick" offenses ran the ball better than the "real man's football" teams: Arky, LSU, Bammer.

Last year (2014), despite AU's late season slide, they were still 2nd in rushing in the SEC (UGA was #1). 2014 rushing stats of the "power run" teams compared to AU:

Auburn: 3321 total yards with 5.47 YPA

Arky: 2834 total yards with 5.09 YPA

Bama: 2893 total yards with 5.10 YPA

LSU: 2919 total yards with 4.70 YPA

So, yeah, OP is talking out his arse.
