I don't understand the love for Georgia this year. Chubb is a shadow of his former self, Kirby is definitely not the next Saban, and they have no Offensive line. By no means am I saying that my Vols will be good either but I don't understand why Georgia is getting love.

It's because these are all undecided.

Georgia wins at least 10 this year, easily wins the East, and will have an outside shot at making the Playoff.

On paper, Georgia should be the favorite. Just the same way we were the favorite last year.

Georgia should have a top notch defense although I'm not sure how great they will be at rushing the passer and I feel teams like Missouri and other good throwing teams may put up a few points on UGA.

Biggest questions for Georgia is the O-line and the entire passing game. I think if Eason struggles the noise to play Frohm may get pretty loud and who knows what will happen then.

The real story here is that Tennessee's best team in a decade needed a Hail Mary to beat an average team

Last year they had the 87th ranked total O and 102nd ranked scoring O...lost their best playmaker (Imac) both RBs are on surgically repaired knees, lost the majority of the O-line, and still have fat Jim calling plays. They'll be fine on defense but that offense does not look good unless I'm missing something

That being said, I'm sure our game will be a dogfight this year. UGA/UT has been decided by 1 possession for 6 years in a row now.

UGA UT games are always tighter than they should be, especially the past 6 years. Doesn't matter how well each team is playing at that point.

The outside shot of making the playoffs is assuming the over on 10 wins, and of course winning the SEC if they have more than one loss.

We've beaten UGA two years in a row.

Fair points, but I don't think they are getting that much love. Being picked to win an average division isn't a lot of love.

Like it always is with Georgia, its about the talent recruited, they always have just a little bit more than the east except for maybe Florida any given year.

On the other side of the coin:

-Sony's knee surgery was when he was in 10th grade. He seems to be fine since then.
-Chubb is now a year further removed from his surgery. That can't hurt.
-We have other good backs.
-Eason now in year 2, which should help him and the OL.
-We had a couple outside receivers (Wims and Ridley) come on at the end of last year. Godwin and Hardman should be able to replicate a lot of what IMac gave us.
-TE room is the best in the conference.
-OL we lost sucked anyways. New OL is at least bigger and stronger. Obviously a ? though.

I never said we would be good this year. I do think UGA, UF, and TN will have similar seasons. I see all three schools winning around 8 games.

It all comes down to coaching. Every team has question marks every season and Georgia has some, but we're loaded with talent, and experience at most positions too. We lost some OL, but we return a lot also, and this year they should at least know who they're supposed to block. Plus, we get some talented OL newcomers who should be able to contribute. I don't think Eason will live up to the 5 star rating but with good coaching and the right scheme he has enough help to be effective. If Smart and company can't win the East this year, he'll be gone after 2019 IMO.

As for Chubb being a shadow of his former self, he's better right now than any RB Tennessee has or had in a long time, and so is Sony.

That doesn't matter if your O-line is like swiss cheese.

Doesn't exactly inspire confidence
