What going on with Madden?

Sure is. You just gotta wait and see if Pittman can coach them up to being at least good. Until I see it on the field, you will have a young, inexperienced line.

This is the kicker here. No telling until they're on the field.

Apparently he has trouble with the playbook. More so than most young players. Currently on scout team.

That's reasonable...it just seemed like the prevailing theme was that our OL is going to be garbage again simply because we lose some starters off an already bad line. Which may make sense in some cases, but the fact we're replacing some average guys with much higher potential guys gives us some hope. I assume there will be an adjustment period as there is with most young players, but I'm pretty confident that our OL will be a good bit better in November of '17 than it is right now.

Let us also not negate that Pitmman is highly regarded as one of the best Oline coaches in the country.
That has to be figured in. Combine that with more beef and overall, more talent and you have the recipe for a much improved oline.
I can 100% say it will not be any worse than this year, of course, thats not saying a lot

No I was just saying that if I were you I wouldn't be confident. Hopeful sure, but confident I wouldn't be.

Dude. They've had top 10 recruiting classes consistently for well over 30 years. Hasn't matter one bit on the national stage. Won't matter this time either.

I am confident because as of now our line looks like:
LT- senior transfer from Rhode Island who sucks. Bad
LG- Best OL (comes back next year). Can play G/T. No complaints.
C- First year playing center and undersized for it
RG- Surprise of the group, former DL who has held his own
RT- Guy who will likely make an NFL roster at guard, playing out of position.
Next year, our C will be this year's RG and he has way better of a body type for it. The 2 guard spots will be held by inexperienced freshmen but at the very least they have the size and meausrables that this group does not. If we move Wynn (current LG) to LT that's an automatic upgrade immediately. Then at RT we'll have a major question mark, but at the very least it's an actual tackle and not a guy moving over from guard.
Again, start of the year is worrisome but I have no doubt that the OL 12 months from today will be better than the one right now.

Idk sure seems like a lot of movement, new positions etc.
Sure some might be better suited for those positions physically but I think switching up an entire line or nearly, can create a hectic environment. Pittman is good as you say, so things should gel by November '17 yes. Hopefully they learn the playbook well bc youth without knowledge is never good.

I think a big factor in UGA's favor OL wise is that Eason should be a lot better in getting us in the right protections and run checks next season than he was this year.
Murray and Hutson Mason were masters at that. Eason will not be that good, but he should be better.
