Experience trumps talent and UGA is losing 3 seniors that actually regressed under Chaney and Pittman. Unless Chaney and Pittman learn to coach up, I am guessing that stable if running backs will stay within the stable.

tech isn't used to having many folks above a 2* rating so I can see why you'd think this, but that isn't even close to accurate. Just because a guy is a senior doesn't mean he doesn't suck, likewise just because a guy is a freshman doesn't mean he can't be very good.

Offensive lines are a big shuffle. A change in one or two spots on the line can have huge drastic impacts in the performance of the unit as a whole.

Does all that make sense?

I am aware of this. I just always saw Cleveland as a OT. I guess I didn't know he didn't have long arms like Crispy just talked about.

Watching UGA this year I think they are a piece or two away. If its Wynn at LT. Great.

LT- Wynn
LG- Johnson
C- Galliard
RG- Cleveland
RT- Hayes

Swing- Sims

Thats a solid OL.

Isaiah Wilson just committed...so I have to think he starts at RT next year and Hayes at LT, Wynn at LG, Big Ben at RG, Gaillard at C. Hell yes, Wilson was a big puzzle piece.

IMO, that's a bit of a stretch. Wilson is a project, he would benefit from a redshirt year.

Wouldn't call him a project at all, but he does need to learn the technical side of playing the position instead of relying solely on talent.

Having said that, he is more talented than many of the OTs at Georgia already.

don't forget about Solomon Kindley, who was ahead of Cleveland this past year and actually did get on the field (once). I take that to mean that he's at least going to be in the running. A guard rotation of Netori/Kindley/Cleveland should be a 3/4 year run of solidness.

dafuq are you talking about? He is one of the best OTs we've signed this century adn we're razor thin at tackle, there aint no way in hell he's redshirting.

I imagine we'll give Hayes (JUCO tackle) first crack at LT and start Wilson out at RT.

If I was a USC fan and watched Georgia run for 326 yards behind a "dumpster fire" OL, I would tuck my tail and stay out of this thread.

If you are an athlete you've got to be a special kind of stupid to flunk out of Uga. That kid is a starter and easily your best receiver and return man. No way the powers that be over there let that happen.

There have been rumors of him transferring each of the last 3 offseasons. I will believe it when I see it.

I see

LT Hayes
LG Sims
C Wynn
RG Gaillard
RT Wilson

Obviously, there will be battles to deteeminen all of the spots. But If I'm betting, this is my line.

Is it an improvement? Yes. But that is a relative term. We definitely will go from one of the lighter lInes to heavier lines overnight. And that should improve a lot of the man blocking schemes. But it wont be until 2018 until I think we have the players and experience to compete for SEC titles.

Gaillard is the backup Center right now. Wynn probably stays at guard and Gaillard slides down to center, if I had to put money on it.

I understand. I just don't think Wynn is the size that we need to man block in this offense. He didn't do well in a lot of games this season (despite the unanimous consensus that he is our best lineman... Pyke taking the most talented lineman spot).

Wynn's size and athleticism would do wonders at center. I understand Gaillard's experience at backup C this season. But if Wynn doesn't get in at C or T, I don't think he fits in to the future at UGA. He's good at T. I just don't know if he's good enough to beat out the behemoths that we are bringing in (early enrollee juco and 5 star 6'7").

It seems like I have about as good of a chance at starting on the o line next year as Ben Cleveland based off of what people are saying. It seems like he needs another year or so because he played mostly d line in high school.

Cleveland just turned 18 a couple of months ago.

It wouldn't shock me if he improves. But it shouldn't surprise that an 18 year old next year may not be ready.
