I heard them talking about it on SiriusXM this past week and the talking head being interviewed said he thought it would be Del Rio as he gave them the best chance to win the Michigan game by not turning it over and staying within the offense. He said the defense was solid and even without Callaway, the receiving corps was one of the deepest in college football. He said you didn't need a game changer at QB yet, just a game manager and that he wouldn't bet against Zaire or Franks moving into the position before season's end, but Del Rio would be the guy taking the first snap.

Del Rio wont lost games. He may be the best option for game one. But not long term. Add in Michigan is every bit as talented. Del Rio has no deep ball ability, Franks has an absolutely beautiful deep ball. We have to use that to move the ball on Michigan. Their large De's will create nightmares for our off tackle power run which is our primary strength in the offense. So we need to move the ball by attacking their inexperienced secondary. Harbaugh will play zone most likely and blitz schemes on us to rattle the Qb. Franks can make them pay. Del Rio can't. Just feel its a weak move and Mac coaching not to lose, and not coaching to win.

I don't think anyone's knows right now , not even coach Mac. Seems like it could be down to any of the 3 QBs that have been talked about. I agree with most fans and feel like Frank's should be the guy. He needs experience before the SEC games . Our chances of beating Michigan with the other 2 is not much better . Frank's is the only one that could be the future .

Mac is not going to tell anyone. We'll find out on gameday.

My bet is Franks

Franks was such a project coming out. Great raw talent and great athlete, but horrible throwing motion, accuracy, and vision.

I actually think he made a great choice at the time going to play for McElwain instead of Les/Cam (obviously )

Very surprised he is "ready" at this point though. He had a ton to work on.

then he is the obvious answer and my faith in Mac will disappear if Del Rio starts tbh.

Why is this? I have confidence that the coaches will play the QB with the best chance to win ballgames. If it is Del Rio then so be it. That decision is more about the players than the coaches making the call. The best player for the success of the team will play.

Why? Because Rio isn't good enough. The Harris/Grier thing showed they had issues picking a Qb. Then Mac won't let Grier start immediately the following year despite proving he is a stud Qb. So two years in a row, a Qb issue caused by not choosing.the clearly more gifted Qb. Year three, time to put the best player in. If Franks is looking the best, and he is. He has the most upside. So not choosing him is ridiculous

How many have they played?

How many games has Franks (your likely starter) won?

No matter who they start, there is going to be a lot of complaining about it from Gator fans. None of them have the full package of what makes a great QB. Unfortunately for them, they can't put all of them in a can and shake it up and come out with a guy who can do it all.

If Franks looks the best and is the best, sure he should start but if he isn't, choosing him just for his upside is ridiculous. The QB that plays should be the one that has the best chance for us to win football games now. The coaches will determine that, just don't go all negative if it's not who you think should be playing. They have more insight than we ever will as to who will give us the best chance and we as fans should support that decision.

For which game?

I'm sure it will change several times by the end of the year.
