Seems like Florida is really good just about every year but never can win it all.

Particularly with the elimination format.
Anything can happen in a short series.

With the longest current SEC streak of making the NCAA baseball tournament ending after 14 consecutive years, the Hog season is over. May not win another game.

Funny though, I am looking forward to watching the NCAA tourney. The SEC tournament, no so much, as some teams will rest their top pitchers and really, unless you win the SEC tournament, or are on the bubble for a national NCAA host, or for making the tournament, very little meaning.

And yes, Florida is very good. AJ Puk, hails from my home town of Cedar Rapids, IA and I believe his Grand Dad was one of 5 locals that sponsored me for a Winter on the Florida Golf Tour. It was Dr Puk, to me. Might have been the Father of JJ Puk. (About 45 yrs ago.)

I could say something like "it's about time; y'all are in the most talent rich area in the SEC; y'all have consistently underperformed in the SEC, etc". but I won't.

y'all are the real deal this year. hopefully it will translate into a world series and a natty. put my skepticism to rest.

Yup pretty much. When you have at least what 3 first rounders in your starting rotation and have what another 5 or 6 flame throwers that come out the bullpen, yeah hard to say other than very impressive.

This is not a flame, just an honest question: as good as your program has been recently, why doesn't the gator fans support them any better? Last nite being a prime example, a great pitching duel against 2 top ranked teams, the gators #1, and from the various shots on tv, it was not a full house. And from what I have seen in the past, it seldom is. Why?

A: it's Florida.

2: not speaking of last night, because it was night, but there is no shade at Floridas ballpark

Tractor: opening game usually has less attendance than the other two. At least from what I've seen

It's hot in Louisiana too in May but LSU packs the place for big SEC series. I'm really wondering if Texas calls would O'Sullivan be interested. I know he hasn't won it all yet but he has done everything else and still can't get fan support. He does have administration support but go to Texas he can recruit another talent rich big state along with ties in Florida and a program that if you win the fans will show up.

It is more than being hot.

Alex Box = A nice sized overhand and suites to provide some shade

Alfred A. McKethan = 0 shade

Plus in general Florida isn't a state that supports baseball. The Marlins & Rays traditionally don't have big crowds.

When comparing to LSU, its the only game in the state unless you really care about minor league baseball. Do people actually care about minor league baseball?

I don't know what apophasis means but I have been to a number of minor league games across the south. they are a lot of fun. in fact, one can see a lot of good baseball also. if not for the park, you'd play hell telling the difference between AAA and the bigs (sometimes AA too). and most of the parks are new, very fan friendly and cheap as hell. players come and go but they do that in the bigs too.

so tell me something my Websters can't. what the hell does apophasis mean?

edited to say I found it. it's always good to learn a new word. and yes, the Donald is a master at it.

Hah I wasn't familiar with it either until I heard it describing Trump a few months back.

I'm not trying to hate on minor league ball, but I haven't come across the die hards like there are for MLB or NCAA. The park in Sugar Land for the Skeeters (indy) is a ton of fun, but I couldn't tell you a single player on the roster or if they're any good or not.
