I honestly think we upgraded with Odom, but time will tell.

Excellent coach, but he will miss Dave Steckel huge!

no not really, Stec is a decent motivational and position coach but as a DC he's really little better than average.. have you seen his game plan in ATL the last two years? Not that hard to replace.

He's a top 5 SEC coach IMO.

A decade and a half at Mizzou and zero conference trophies... maybe you are right, and maybe that's case in point on why the SEC wasn't in the playoffs.

Is that really a fair standard? How many outright conference championships did yall have the 30 years before Pinkel?

Doesn't matter. He should be reeling off conference titles at least every other year or he's shite.

I think he's a great coach that does more with less resources than just about anyone in the country.

He's very underrated IMO.

Why would it not be "fair", isn't the relevant question how fast and how well you "turn around" the program you are at?

Other coaches have turned around programs or built them out of nothing in a few years, and won conferences, why is the standard lower for Pinkel? Can you explain that?

It's been almost 50 years since Missouri won a conference title. Pinkel is indisputably the second best coach in Mizzou history..

no not really, he is arguably 3rd, but there are 3 other coaches with conference titles at Mizzou, and it's entirely probably Pinkel will NEVER be among those coaches. Do you really believe he's about to win the SEC?

Pretty solid coach in my opinion. He's the perfect fit for Mizzou because he's good at developing players. I don't think Mizzou can recruit at a high level so he's doing what is necessary to win.
