Am I denying that historical fact? No. Clearly, Auburn didn't have scrubs at the other 20 positions out there. But they only had two truly talented players.

Compare that to the championship teams from LSU, Alabama, and Florida -- those teams put like 8-9 players in the NFL draft per year on the reg.

IDK how Auburn did it in 2010, but it wasn't with the kind of talent that those other teams had. They got a couple players who were literally just better than anyone else out there, but they didn't have a team full of talent.

If Malzahn's offense can average 40 points a game with only 1 good player, imagine what it will do with a bunch of good players. Another reason people should be scared

I don't have the time to research, but I'd be curious to see that data.

It would take five minutes to do a draft day comparison. Again, Auburn had 4 players drafted in 2011 (the draft after winning the championship). The next year, they had 1. Meanwhile, LSU and Alabama are putting 8 guys per year in the draft. A year or two later, Florida State was putting up those kinds of numbers. I mean, those are "talented" teams in the sense that they had elite players up and down the roster. Auburn, not really the case.

Well I know that's not true.

Just looked and had 4 drafted. Wasn't questioning your other claim, I'm just curious to see the numbers and too lazy to do it myself.

Sorry typo. 4 drafted in 2011. 1 in 2012.

8-5 comes to mind.

The 2010 Alabama team was considerably more talented than 2010 auburn, on the whole. But 2010 auburn was the better team.

Malzahn's arguably had more talent here since becoming HC than he did in 2010.

The only thing that truly scares me in this thread is that there are many others, some of whom are registered to vote, with an equally dismal grasp of logic. THAT scares me.

As stated before in this thread, that OL was exceptional.

It was solid. 2013 OL was better, in my opinion.

It was a senior laden team. I think we lost 35 players after 2010. Experience is huge. The draft isn't all that matters.

Agreed. Talent is only part of the equation. Coaching, hard work, luck and, of course, message board fan support are other key components.

Obviously not, and teams like Auburn prove the point. But that observation more or less makes Gary Danielson's claim about this year's team irrelevant.

So the 2015 team is more talented than the 2010 team. Who cares? That isn't hard to accomplish. Hell last year's Auburn team was also more talented than the 2010 team and they didn't win anything.

So posting in a thread my opinion of what happened 5 years ago means I'm clearly not over it? Auburn people are a egotistical bunch.

So you came to an auburn thread, tell us how you're over a 5 year old team, then tell others they're egotistical?

Nice.
