Problem is, fan bases are doing this more often. Why? During an injury is the only time stadiums quit playing Lady Gaga at 115 dB.

I think you're on to something here.

THIS.

FWIW the LSU fans clapped and cheered when our injured players were able to walk off the field.

I don't think so, just saying that it was disrespectful. Kinda like texting in church.

I do speaker phone in church so I can hold my prayer book...is that wrong? I have difficulty judging these things with all the new technology and stuff.

No one really thought anything of Ole Miss fans saying hotty toddy when LSU players were down
Yeah, it never occurred to me that they were doing it b/c a player was injured, and I don't think they were at all. Same thing with Geaux Tigers.

The only cheer/chant/boo in response to an injury was when our defensive player was hurt on the last drive and they booed.

What is the generally rule to act as a fan in the stands?

If it's opposing player either-

Boo loudly if he's faking or

Cheer like hell if your guy knocked him out.

Anyone that cheers a college kid being injured is trashy as frick and should be kicked out of the game
I've heard of it happening a couple of times in the NFL, most recently with Schaub - never seen or heard of this in college ball though.

Keep your mouth shut.
No fan knows whether or not an injury is "legit."
If it's an actual injury, show some respect; and if it's not, booing doesn't change anything.

When in Oxford if it's an opposing team's player, you throw a whiskey bottle or cup of beer down through the stands and yell "that N is faking." If it's a bear player you start cursing the refs for letting it happen because it's always their fault when anything doesn't go the bear's way.

Because I don't want to start another thread, ya'll really need to slow down the Hoddy Toddy cheer. The only words that are audible are Hoddy Toddy. After that it's just a mess of noise.

Do you think any cheers from the stands are audible after the first two words? I was sitting in the LSU section and couldnt understand half of what yalls chants were. Of course, everyone in the area was fairly inebriated.

LSU fans were changing LSU or doing Geaux Tigers during injury timeouts for both LSU and Ole Miss players. As stated in the thread, there were also instances of Ole Miss fans chanting Hotty Toddy when LSU players were down hurt.

Must have been a different LSU-Ole Miss game that I attended Saturday night in Oxford

I am sure that A&M player was hurt but his flop after running halfway to the sidelines was garbage!

I have an issue with faking injuries to slow the game down, but I don't have a problem with what he did. He was banged up (not bad) and needed to get off the field. In the age of hunh, going down is the right thing to do if you are injured. It is wrong as a tactic to slow down the game though.
