Is this pregame turnout/tailgating atmosphere typical or just terrible on account of Thanksgiving?

It's because it's on Thanksgiving.

And it's hard to get excited for an opponent like LSU. It would probably be different if this was bama. Or ole miss

Thanksgiving matchup of two teams with nothing to play for.

Holiday college games just aren't going to draw the best crowds. Unlike the NFL where the vast majority of people attending the games live in the area, most college games are attended by people traveling much further distances. Many people don't want to spend a holiday away from home and driving all day.

Atmosphere against a fun opponent like tu was always great. Y'all just don't move the needle.

For UTw, families would have members that attended each university and everyone would just have Thanksgiving at the tailgate. It was a state holiday tradition. The people who ran Texas would all gather in either CS or ATX and that's just what everyone did.

This deal with LSU is just not the same in any regard. A&M should have never pushed for it.

I am usally there all day and I am still at home 2.5 hours before game time. No excitement this year. Old Miss on the other hand was the most tailgating I have ever seen and that was only two weeks ago.

So y'all get more excited about teams you've actually beaten in your short time in the SEC? This is A&M's chance to break through that LSU glass ceiling

We (my fam) all sold our tix.
But someone bought em, so there's that.
But yeah, this TG game against LSU needs to be scrapped.

Agreed. We either play tu on Thanksgiving or no one, IMO.

How long has it been since y'all actually beat LSU? The 90's? This could be a historic day!

Probably not. It would still be the last game on your schedule. Which means more likely than not 4-5 losses.
