The Record is 12....one other team may tie that today, but we'll see what happens.

I've got to say that the most impressive aspect of SC in this regional was the unwavering support of the fans. Despite losing the first game, they stayed in there and sold out the stadium in all the games.

We still have 2 NCs in the 2000s though. Not going to lie I always use "this century" when comparing football so I can't complain about SC doing it for baseball. Win today and we are still at the top

Just out of curiosity, who holds the record outside of the SEC?

I do not know, someone else asked that and I spent a couple googling it but didn't find an answer.

I just found a doc that said FSU had 12 in 2011 (of course they've never won a CWS before though.)

Thanks guys.

I thought it might be a PAC school. FSU and Miami makes sense too though.

Thanks but nah, we didn't sell out any of the games. Founders Park can hold 8K. We had our largest crowd today at 7,004 - we almost had that many for the Game 1 loss on Friday night. Then we had crowds under 6K for the next 3 games - they are passionate, especially the 2 on Sunday, but that's small for what we've seen in the past.

Today's game crowd was closer to the regular 7,500-8,000 loud, intimidating crowds we've had in post-season play since Founders Park was opened.

I'm hoping now that we've made it back to the Supers, and are hosting it, that we'll REALLY show what we can do: can't think many fans expected us to do better than this after the season we had last season. I was hoping to have a chance at this scenario at the start of the season, because playing games in Columbia throughout the regional play gives us our best chance to make it back to Omaha. Now that we're realized what I hoped we would, I'm happy.....

Yep, FSU and and UNC I think are among the top schools in CWS appearances without ever winning it. Clemson is up there with them as well - they have made it to Omaha 12 times compared to only 11 for us thus far, but a numbers of theirs (and ours) predated the super regional format which started in 1999. Miami has gone a ton as well, and has won a number in recent years, so I can see them with a lot of Supers...

This is a great accomplishment regardless of whether or not you're in the lead. Maybe some baseball success will transfer to your football program
