A lot of Bama fans are very down on Dabo. I'm not sure which way to lean. Overall, Clemson has been consistently solid. But I'm just not sure if I'd want him for the job.

Pruit looks good for UGA if he continues to do as well as he started. Kirby Smart probably deserves a shot somewhere (prob not sec at first). Same could be said for Lashlee. Kiffen would probably excel at Miami. I wonder if South Carolina would be interested in Muschamp? Alabama and LSU would probably want experienced coaches, Jimbo or Dabo maybe?

I like this whole post. Well done.

Kirby is waiting for a middle to upper tier job or he's the HCIW at Bama. There's no other choice. I think he's like Bo Pelini. Waiting for a job like Nebraska, Miami, UCLA, Penn St, UGA, UNC. Not necessarily top tier, but not a bottom feeder.

The current trend seems to be go to a low level school like Colorado St, Indiana, Virginia school for a year or two. Do well then move up. NOTE: none of the schools used were said because of potential but just simply by comparison. Most SEC schools aren't going to hire someone without HC experience. He'll even Vanderbilt expects to win football games. You gotta win. Gotta win consistently. Gotta win a lot.

I guarantee you that Gus, Les, Nick, and Mark would be on the chopping block if they didn't get at least one or two ten win seasons with some contention for about 5 years in a row. Hence why a lot of people started talking about Les like that. A bad year or two is permissible, but you're pretty much expected to win 10 games every year. Especially with them lengthening the seasons.

I like Dabo to replace Saban. He will fail to live up to the ridiculous expectations. He will be fired and our next coach will be a home run. Dabo won't be bad, but he won't be Saban and he will pay for it. I see a couple 10-9-8 win seasons with a shot at, but not an SEC title. Dabo will be our sacrificial lamb and we will be better for it.

Mullen will be fired in the next few years. I see Mark Hudspeth from ULL going to State and Coach O becoming the head coach at ULL

Alabama could legitimately pull Jimbo from FSU

LSU couldn't. They are the 3rd best job in the SEC... maybe. The LSU job is equal to the FSU job. LSU would need to go after a guy like Jim Mora JR, Muschamp, Lane Kiffen, Chris Peterson, Mike Gundy, etc.

No. Not within the next 3-5 yrs. He could go 0'fer in sec play and still get 3 more years. State fans love them some merlin.

This article was posted in the Advocate 6 days ago, some quotes from Fisher below....you do remember he was our OC here for 6 years right? I think Jimbo is most definitely a top candidate to replace Miles one day. Jimbo loves the SEC and is very competitive...he already KNOWS he can win here. Would not be shocked at all if he is our head coach one day.

quote:

“I have an unbelievable tremendous amount of respect for the state of Louisiana, the coaches association and the players,” Fisher said. “There’s just so many fond memories. LSU is a very special place, a very special place for me and my family. It was tremendous to be able to come back.”

Fisher told the media he still follows LSU and pulls for LSU. He said he thinks Les Miles is a tremendous coach.

Is that why Florida is pulling studs away like McElwain? I'm assuming you mean Alabama and Florida are the top two programs.

What is Smart waiting for? Sometimes it's better to strike while the iron is hot, Bama can pick their next coach after Saban and my guess is it won't be career assistant Smart.

In a perfect world, we would have our choice between an up and coming Bobo or Pruitt - with an outside chance (slim) of entertaining the idea of Kirby Smart. Who knows where those guys will be in 5 years though. Personally, I hope Bobo tears it up Colorado St and comes back home.

Agreed.

UGA looks like Bobo is getting primed to be the next guy. Or if we can hold on to Pruitt long enough, he'd likely get the inside track.

I don't think JP is going to stick around as a coordinator for too much longer though. If our defense continues to improve, he'll be on the short list for an HC candidate somewhere.

That will be an incredible ascent among the coaching ranks for Pruitt. Been kinda cool to watch.
