Actually, there WERE AU flags everywhere last year. VERY few this year. There are 90% less AU flags in my work parking lot this year. I did a study. Not all, but a LOT of AU fans are fairweather fans.

i remember seeing no more or no less, i also have not noticed an increase in bama car flags. And i would because everytime i see a car with a car flag i think, "god, that's stupid as shite..."and hope they roll down their window to have a smoke and the flag goes flying.
maybe it's different where you are.

i am convinced that all of those people with the tiger tails on their trunks last year all have houndstooth hat magnets this year. Every year it happens.

I don't know how old you are, but that was a norm before 2000. When LSU resurfaced from the abyss around that time, they started pulling for LSU. South Mississippi has a notorious bandwagon fanbase, with USM being small school and Ole Miss and State having limited success over the years.

People in south mississippi do it every year an SEC team wins the ship..they were florida fans in 06, LSU fans in 07, etc

i for one do not own anything Bama, I am AU through and through - but the LSU posters on this site drove me to pull for Bama - and I am glad they won it and brought it home to the state for the 3rd year in a row.

My best friend is a HUGE Auburn fan and she said the same thing about encounters IRL. She was in Nola with us, poor thing. She was in hell. I would take pictures of Alabama fans that she thought were funny so she could show her friends.

I've talked to several Bama alumni over the past week. Both in Alabama and in New Orleans. All expressed the same sentiment that graduates are very different from the backwoods/sidewalk fans that seem to permeate the Tide fanbase (or, at least, receive a lot of attention).
Every Bama fan I have ever met who actually attended and graduated from UA has been an absolute pleasure to spend time with. Can't say the same for the classless contingent whose affiliation is through outside, vacant fandom.

well to be honest - it was not only the site - but LSU fans i talked to and interfaced with when on business in L:afayette a couple times - they were just obnoxious about it.
