Absolutely.

Paying players isn't something new. It's still looked down upon but not like making up someone who you eventually claims dies of a terrible disease, one which has caused a lot of families grief and heartache, all to inspire sympathy for yourself so you can become more famous.

I don't know but I'm pretty amazed at how much and how crazy the coverage is over this.

I am too, but it seems like just when you think you've seen it all. I mean the Sandusky thing was just plain screwed up. This is just strange, and all around a little over a year.

Te'o is a bigger story.

Student-athletes and programs are accused and rumored to pay players and cheat everywhere. Rival fans throw cheating around about other programs 24/7. i.e. T'town Menswear/Dodge dealerships/house sitting jobs, etc.

This Girlfriend-gate shite is a hot topic everywhere.

This. The Cam Gate is a legend and will last decades. The amount of fail that was the Cam gate always has me laughing though.

I hear ya. When I see someone bring it up on here, I say to myself "who the hell cares!"

There are a lot of people who could really give a shite if college players get paid or not. Only sports fans paid attention to Camgate.

The Teo thing is something everyone can enjoy.

Better question, which is better college football season or off-season.

Given that the University of Negligent Death actually has a national fan base, I would say yes.

This will be a bigger story if the LDS Church was behind the hoax to cover for their poster boy being gay......

Far bigger than Camgate. Not even in the same ballpark.

Honestly, it's much more fricked up. I'd say he's a much worse person than Cam is.

Yes, the Cam thing was big but it was a pretty standard college sports type scandal. This is really weird and more interesting to the average person.

From a bizarreness standpoint yes, however the Cam story had much more potential for major consequences, like vacated titles, vacated awards, probation, etc.

This Te'o thing is just a really weird trainwreck.
