No we didn't let him get away. His wife did not want to go to Miami. But Saban's ego took over when Wayne Huizenga landed his helicopter on Saban's front lawn off of Highland Road and begged him to come to Miami by offering him the moon and total control.

Skip didn't do shite to keep him in BR. I distinctly remember him saying that he "Wasn't going to get into a bidding war with Huizenga and the Dolphins." He basically gave up and didn't make much of an effort to keep his man. Kind of like what Alleva did with Herman. He just gave in and walked away.
