it just blows my mind that a major in state school (major..so I'm excluding vandy for ut) wouldn't be a biggest rival.

Recently as in months are years? Because you do realize y'all just won against us sense the early 1900s.. Mississippi State that is..

1901, I think was the last time State won.

YOu need to realize that prior to 1990, Ole Miss probably beat State five out of every six years. The series has become much more balanced post 1990. MSU was always an after thought.

So we're your #1 rival but you're our #3 rival?
Got it.
Got it.

Who cares. It's not like being your rival is some great accomplishment. Yall went 0-8 a couple of times since the last time we did. The only people who bring it up are OM fans wanting to feel more important or closer to greatness than they really are.
It's obvious to everyone in the SEC who OM game plans the most for.

Most of my Ole Miss buddies (I'm 29) hate LSU more. They think of LSU as the bigger rival because they "respect LSU and don;t respect State." As for me, I've always hated Ole Miss more than anyone. Most of it is a result of where I grew up and who my close friends rooted for.

Which is the age range of students, young alums, recruits, and current players. Y'all are usually competitive with LSU, but outside of 2003 & 2008 you are never really even with them standings wise.

This is the biggest reason I don't want to lose. If they were a less douchey fanbase I wouldn't dread it so much
There is NO bigger douche bag fanbase than a wanna be Rebel group.
Bama is the only one worse

Want to beat LSU more. Don't want to lose to state more.

Worry about beating your instate big brother MSU before worrying about out of state big brother LSU.
Do you dumb mother frickers really think calling State our big brother gets under anyone's skin? I've seen it a few times lately. You might as well make jokes about our campus being located in Montevideo.

State wasn't anything you could call "major" for about the first 100 years of their existence. Our older fans simply don't take them seriously, and this get irrationally angry when we lose to them.
Also why older MSU fans hate OM so got damn much. OM beat their asses for so long and the fans turned their nose at them, and it built up some serious bitterness.
The younger State and OM fans are starting to view each other more or less equally in terms of hate or lack there of. State would have the edge for sure, but mostly because we have a huge out of state enrollment that doesn't give a single shite about State.

You should care more about beating LSU. It happens more.

Hell, if LSU loses tomorrow they won't even be in the discussion of a rival.
We're gonna lose tomorrow AND Saturday? Son of a bitch - I better start drinking now...
I'll say that I really enjoy being in the heart of the conference schedule when we can all just agree to hate each other. All the SEC brotherhood on display in the first few weeks and during bowl season is really annoying.
GTHOM - I hope all the bad things in the life happen to you and nobody else.

Huh? Ole Miss is 40-58-4 against LSU
Ole Miss is 61-43-6 against MSU
Actually, I do care much more about beating LSU.
