If that hadn't thrust this story into the spotlight, he would have never been fired. After all, how can you fire him just for the act itself when you are running a string of whores for recruits on their visits like every other school in the SEC.
Price got fired because he wasn't discreet. Nobody at Alabama actually gave two shits about the morality of what he did.

We are in different points of the scale. It’s exactly what Auburn needs to do to get going. You all still had talent in your roster, just needed a coach to give a foundation to play from. Our cupboards are bare with a spattering of talent. Our OL was non existent, our LB recruiting has been shite, and Freeze is looking to have a fast start.
We will be fine moving along. Freeze will build the relationships needed. I don’t think you have a clue about what took place while Harsin was here. Because he did nothing to build relationships. Freeze will pivot when it’s needed. By the way, no team will be spared from paying big to get players. None

Apparently, the point of my post whizzed right over your head. Perhaps you were distracted by the alarm going off on the deep fryer at work, So, I'll put it more simply. The issue at hand is hypocrisy. Auburn hired Freeze aware of his past because he's a good football coach. That's not hypocrisy. Bama fired Price to protect the illusion that they are a squeaky-clean organization that just cares deeply about such moral issues. LOL! All the while knowing that they paid players (when that was illegal) and had girls sleep with recruits during their visits. Now that "IS" hypocritical.
