This lambert kid was really bad last year. Virginia had a pretty damn good team but he held them back

Stop it. Lambert may suck, but in no way is Virginia "a pretty damn good team."

They had a solid defense and good enough wr and rb to win 9 games

I'll grant you solid defense. Bad offensive line, no dynamic offensive skill players (Mizell could be, but they don't ever get him touches), and they may actually be the most poorly coached team in D1 football.

They don't resemble a 9 win team. They'd need a considerable amount of luck to win 6 this coming season.

9 games? They went 5-7.

They played 4 ranked teams and went 1-3. The one win was early in the year over louisville...a team that we demolished (for reference).

they lost to BYU, beat pitt by 5, lost 4 games in a row including to duke and unc, and lost to a bad VT team.

They finished dead last in their division.

They were not a "damn good" team, by any stretch of the imagination. Their 5 wins were against an FCS team, pitt, louisville, kent state, and miami.

Right, because as I just said....you kept forcing us to go 3 and out and turn the ball over.

Their defense was decent, but their lead RB averaged less than 4 yards a carry on almost 200 carries. The usually points to a porous o-line, which usually affects - you guessed it - QB play.

Possibly, but even in our down years, we're still better than Georgia. 38-35

I'm just really worried that UVA will want to claim part of our SEC championship that Greyson leads us into this Fall.

Congrats! I hope he starts every game for UG, especially on Oct 31. Just like I hope E. Golson starts every game for FSU, especially Nov. 21.

Here's the deal... explained by Dean Legge from DawgPost...

quote:

You see, this is about numbers – not skill. Georgia doesn’t need someone to come in and start – they need to give the guy who is not starting a breather during practice. This is about the wear and tear on shoulders. This is about third-team reps. This is about having the ability to practice.

Georgia, with its three scholarship quarterbacks in the spring, was dangerously close to having one too few signal callers on its roster. Lambert’s commitment solves that problem… at least for a little while.

Now Georgia can enter fall camp with the ability to name a starter, a backup and two guys who can be scout team guys and make throws so that the starter’s arm doesn’t fall off. Remember that Joe Cox, Hutson Mason and Aaron Murray – the last three starters in Athens – all had issues with too much throwing.

That’s something that has to be taken seriously. And it is a major concern if only three men are on campus.

And Jake Rowe of 247...
quote:

Why not let a guy who was recruited by Georgia out of high school come in and see if he has anything to add to a position battle that is crucial to the team's success in 2015?

Why not give Lambert a chance to move back to his home state and experience a fresh start? Why not add depth and competition?

Why not? The Georgia coaching staff certainly couldn't find a good reason because unlike me a decade ago, they understand the value in taking help wherever you can get it.
