I don't think driving while suspended is like DUI, drug or violence charges

It isn't anything close to those.
Of course, it does raise the question of why his license was suspended in the first place.
He's most likely got a ton of tickets, didn't pay some tickets, or has a previously unreported alcohol offense (DUI, minor in possession, etc).

I was arrested for that a month ago. It was probably suspended for not paying a speeding ticket or something. No harm no foul on this guy

No biggie... in a few days Starkville PD will issue a statement that the speed limit signs were inconsistent or their radar guns gave insignificant readings.

I've asked this before, but I'll ask again. How the frick are so many CFB players' licenses suspended? It has to double the national average. shite blows my mind.

My personal experience with CFB players is that they feel like they're better than everyone else and above the law. Seriously.
My assumption is that whenever they get a citation, they just don't pay it.

I honestly did not even know you could get arrested for that. I assumed it would just be a fine.
