This board is SERIOUS frickING BUSINESS to some people. How dare you post this on the SECRant when there is so much other riveting conversation taking place right now? How dare you sir.

I know right. The board has been slow as hell and I thought it was interesting as a hell. Definitely more interesting than anything right now. People are so upset they take time to click on the thread and complain.

If I see threads I'm not interested in I just don't click and go on with my day.

He is probably right about the ad but if he would not have run his mouth he would probably still have his job.

f the stuff he said about Eichorst's complete lack of interaction with student athletes and the coaching staff is true, that's pretty bad.

Yep. I was very surprised to hear he'd only seen the AD a handful of times in a 6 month period. I know Dave Hart at UT is constantly around the program.

Pelini is such a loose cannon, but at least you don't have to worry about knowing where you stand with him.

Yep, I loved his rant, but it just has DC written all over it. No one wants to hire a HC that goes off like that.

He honestly sounds like a bitch who can't handle the pressure of a prime time job. That rant (and others in his past) makes him sound mentally unstable and completely unemployable at a major program.

I disagree. It isn't about "am I the right type of AD not to cross him" its just that you can't trust the guy. Employers can't trust him anymore. Doesn't matter if they think they're good on this one rant, he's got a complete unpredictability and has too much baggage.

It'll be very hard for him to build that trust again for programs that can afford to overlook him in their searches. Doubt he's a HC in a Power 5 ever again, for multiple reasons now including this.

These loose cannon rants are definitely entertaining, but also completely unprofessional

That's a good way to never get hired at a big time school again. Maybe Louisville.

Yeah he might not have gotten the job he's got now had this come out sooner.

On the other hand, it's why Nebraska won't hire a decent coach until there is a new AD in place.

Pelini is a goon. A clownish goon. I'm not even sure he's Youngstown material.

How so? He went out crying to his players and basically told them to transfer because the school he recruited them to is such an awful place.

Seriously...is he not taking his meds? Everything he said may be somewhat true...but you don't go off like that. Boom was classy and the AD & President at UF were totally professional when he was let go.
Pelini is bipolar or something isn't wired right. He committed career suicide ...good luck being at Youngstown

I agree with you 100%. They knew Bo was high-strung, but who could see his degree of nuttiness?

His rants are legendary. I wish he would've landed as a DC in the SEC...

Nebraska statement:

quote:

"If these comments were, indeed, spoken by Mr. Pelini, we are extremely disappointed, but it only reaffirms the decision that he should no longer be a leader of young men at Nebraska," Nebraska's statement read. "His habitual use of inappropriate language, and his personal and professional attacks on administrators, are antithetical to the values of our university. His behavior is consistent with a pattern of unprofessional, disrespectful behavior directed by Mr. Pelini toward the passionate fans of Nebraska, employees of the university and, most concerning, our student-athletes." "This behavior is not tolerated at the University of Nebraska and, among many other concerns, played a role in his dismissal."

Nebraska had to fire this clown.
