I really hope he didn't because i like the guy and think he can take us back, but if this is true that he has done this at other schools and here too he doesn't deserve to keep his job, end of story

What exactly was the reason behind hiring Butch Jones at UT? What were his merits? Anyone that may know, thanks in advance.

He followed Brian Kelly (guy who took ND to national championship) in 2 consecutive stops prior to being hired at UT.
And he played in the band so he's seen lots of football.

I'm skeptical of this. You don't make a habit of walking around beating on 20 year old athletes, particularly large, fast, and violent alpha-male football players, without eventually taking an arse-whipping from one of them. If he slammed his fist down on a player's shoulder pad to get his point across, that's one thing. If he were walking around punching dudes in the face, eventually the clipboard and whistle aren't going to save him.
