Auburn played FOUR games against teams in the CFP, going 2-2, and Alabama played ZERO games against those teams. Auburn beat Alabama handily and blew out Georgia. Auburn also played the team that tied for third in the East (and crushed them). Alabama got the pleasure of playing the two worst teams (by far) from the East. Alabama's best win by far was at home against LSU, Auburn lost to LSU on the road in a heartbreaker. Alabama's next best win was a game they should have lost in Starkville.

If we're looking at "body of work" blah blah blah, I don't see any way that Auburn shouldn't be in over Alabama. Oh, and Auburn actually won the SEC West, which Alabama failed to do. You could argue "records" 10-3 v 11-1, but these two schedules are so unbalanced that you MUST consider that in comparing the two. Otherwise, UCF should be in the playoff.

That is all.

The bad loss that Auburn has on its resume to LSU after blowing a 20 point lead.

Explain why Alabama gets in over Auburn

Because Alabama is ranked ahead of Auburn in every poll/metric/computer/brain in America?

Hell, why ain't Notre Dame in? Only losses are to #3 Georgia, #10 Miami and #13 Stanford. Beat #8 USC by 35 and #24 NC State by 21.

Auburn has 3 losses Paul.

Same # of losses as LSU and LSU holds the head to head over AU.

Auburn lost 3 games, no 3 loss team is going to make the playoffs.

Stop.

Obviously the criteria for the 4 is spotty at best. If you choose the best 4 teams based on the eye test you have to go with bama. If you choose the most deserving you have to go with bama.

However, if Wisconsin would have won then they would have been chosen, but nobody would believe they are one of the four best teams. Most deserving yes, but not best.

Which cause the head of the committee to look like an idiot when he says they chose bama because they were supposed to take the 4 best teams.

Trey Fields? @treyfields_ Dec 3 More I think we can officially declare Bama the biggest snowflake team of 2017 -- lost their biggest game of the season, handily; sat out championship week hoping for a handout; whined to the committee for 7 days; got said handout; and now won't shut up about how awesome it is

That made me laugh this morning.

What about getting spanked by a team that lost to a team that lost to Troy? Asking for a friend.

It's LSU's fault for losing to Troy and beating Auburn.

Too many degrees of separation. Doesn't matter at that point.

SO if Wisconsin had won everyone would have magically thought they were better than Bama?
