They start one or two threads a day about how we're obsessed. Pretty funny.

More like 4 or 5.

This kind of stupidity during Egg and Iron Bowl week makes me glad LSU doesn't have that 'one big' rival/team. Some of this stuff has been borderline retarded.

Black Bear fans can be such hypocrites. They do the same thing when LSU is playing anybody else. They jump up and down and sit on the edge of their seats hoping LSU loses to anybody they are playing, yet they get their panties in a wad that LSU fans could give two shits about what their team does.

Why do you consider LSU the bigger rival?

They are in another state, they don't consider om a rival, you don't recruit the same players, people throughout Louisiana don't talk about the "magnolia" bowl.

We hadn't fallen from the first back to back New Year's day bowls to non-bowl eligible like OM has. Don't like signs? Then just win!

Has State ever been to back to back New Year's Day bowls?

For one thing, I'm a little older than most of the posters on here. We rarely lost to State when I was in school. And, I was raised to hate LSU.

OM fans from MS care about the egg bowl, there is no doubt about it.

The reb fans that really don't care are the out of staters, which make up about 30-40% of our fan base. Our alumni/students from dallas, charlotte, atlanta, and st.louis didn't grow up here and therefore don't have to hear smack all year long when we lose the egg bowl.

Has state ever gone 7-1 in the SEC since expansion?

Not sure how old you are but over the past 40 years the Egg Bowl is 20-20.
And it's 10-10 over the past 20

That's what I consider a rivalry

Who cares if you have been to Atlanta. You didn't win so does it really matter?

brb making Atlanta by a fluke and subsequently making my "program defining" game a loss.

not true. Most LSU fans consider Ole Miss one of our 3 biggest rivals. Many consider Ole Miss our biggest rival.

+1
:kige:
Well said out of staters have no idea. Most probably didn't know about the egg bowl until they got to Oxford or Starkville

This. I didn't hate Mississippi State until I went to Starkville for the Egg Bowl last year (I am from Texas). I thought it was pathetic how much hatred Mississippi State had for Ole Miss, and I have never seen a more obnoxious group of fans (even LSU fans). Most of my out-of-state friends don't care a bit about Mississippi State though.
