Posted this on the rant, but I'll copy here...

If Alabama wins the SECCG, Florida, Auburn, LSU, A&M, and Tennessee all finish the season with 4 losses. Unfortunately, one of these 5 undeserving teams will play in the Sugar Bowl. Per SEC rules, the team that ranks the highest in the final CFB Playoff rankings will automatically get the Sugar invite to play Oklahoma or Oklahoma State.

Based on current rankings, it appears either Florida, Auburn, or LSU will rank the highest of the 5 teams, with most people expecting an Auburn-LSU race for the top spot after Florida inevitably drops in the polls after an expected Bama win over the Gators in the SECCG.

Let's look at the arguments for Auburn and LSU...

Auburn
-Beat LSU head-to-head (18-13)
-Best wins: LSU and Arkansas
-The head-to-head win over LSU is a HUGE ace card to hold (and is likely enough to end the Aub-LSU debate), but can anyone think of any another arguments for Auburn that doesn't involve the 2 team's current position in the polls?

LSU
-LSU is the better team right now and would be favored vs Auburn on a neutral field
-LSU finished the season winning 2 of last 3 SEC games, while Auburn finished the season with 2 straight SEC losses
-Best wins: A&M (who beat Auburn) and Arkansas
-Despite losing 4 games, LSU gave up only 3 TDs in its four losses and was literally 1 yard and 1 second away from only having 2 losses (see Florida and Auburn losses)
-LSU played #1 Bama closer than Auburn, both games being played recently
-All 4 losses were against ranked teams (#5 Wisconsin, #19 Auburn, #1 Alabama, #16 Florida)
-No "bad" losses for LSU... Auburn has a bad loss to unranked Georgia
-The loss to Auburn was on the road at Auburn and was literally an LSU win before it became an Auburn win. Game could have gone either way and came down to the final second
-Loss against Auburn was early in the year when Les Miles was the coach ... LSU started a "new season" under Coach O after that loss
-No SEC team besides Alabama deserves the Sugar Bowl this year, so given the circumstances, why not take some of the extenuating circumstances around LSU's coaching situation into account?
-Despite wildy differing opinions of the Orgeron hire, there is definitely an intense anticipation and interest to see how the next era of LSU football plays out

I'm an LSU fan, so I'm obviously bias. If Auburn gets the nod in the final rankings, I can certainly accept that given the head-to-head result. If the roles were reversed and LSU had the head-to-head win, I would 100% be pointing to the head-to-head win as case closed. However, given the circumstances of the SEC and no true deserving teams, it makes sense to at least consider LSU's case for getting the Sugar Bowl nod over Auburn.

The joke is your defense. Ohio State and Houston raped you. Don't come here talking shite like you've done something. You play in the worst P5 conference. That's the only reason you are in contention every now and then. But when you actually play competition, you get your boomer soonered. You truly live up to the Chokelahoma name.

Is there another way to determine the quality of a team other than their resume?

I bet you wish we were updyke, don't you? They are the team you tend not to choke against.

No, but God forbid we leave out Ohio State in favor of a team that beat them on the field, won the division, and the conference title. The rules only seem to change when a blue blood would get the short end of the stick, this is no different.

It's like that AP voter who put Michigan over Ohio State because he felt the ball didn't reach the 15 and that Michigan was better. It's a crock of shite, because not only are we devaluing the regular season, we are now devaluing conference championships because the right team didn't win the league.

You added some garbage in there that makes no difference. Coaches, and anything you mention about a "new season" is hot garbage. You mentioned the updyke game. You got shut the frick out at home. You couldn't even score a field goal in your own house.

As for who is the better team, clearly with almost half of our starting offense and much of our defense injured, it might be comparable. A month from now, that won't be the case. Won't even be close.

I don't think the SEC has a team that is deserving of the Sugar Bowl this year. After Saturday, every team other than Alabama will have 4 losses. The Sugar bowl and the SEC need to agree this year to look elsewhere for a deserving team.

LSU is not deserving of the Sugar. Plus they are poor and spend no money when here.

Miles was the coach. Committee also says they take into account things like injuries and coaching changes. We've had both considering LF has been hobbled pretty much all year.

Well surely they'll take into account injuries to White and Pettway in Auburn's last two losses. Correct?

Looking back at the last several years, it seems Alabama Poly has lost to Mississippi State and Vanderbilt on more than one occasion. And you want to talk about choke? 7-6 last year? Man, what a proud program!

When was the last time API defeated a championship caliber Alabama that didn't require luck (2013) or the payment of a player (2010)?

How about you actually contend for championships on a regular basis before you talk any nonsense.

Better yet, when you have more poll era national titles than Minnesota, maybe you can talk relevant trash. Otherwise, continue to be Alabama's tune-up game.

LSU would also sell out the dome. Not happening this year but oh well. Good luck Auburn, I'll be rooting for you, and laughing a bit

Well they shouldn't have fricked around with that Florida game and they would've had one more game on their resume

Wait a second... Are you saying it's LSU's own fault for only playing 11 games???

FLORIDA was the one that refused to play on either Sunday or Monday in Gainesville two or three days after the storm had passed. LSU tried like hell to get it played on one of those days, even offering to fly in, play the game, and fly back out.

Once Florida refused, it did not matter ONE BIT how LSU approached it. They were only going to be able to play 11 games total.

You fricking moron.

Pretty sure Oklahoma owns the SEC scoreboard wise. They are particularly good a de-pantsing Alabama on national TV.

LSU has four losses and lost to everyone above it in the pecking order this year. I love LSU, but the Tigers are the least-deserving team in the Sugar Bowl hunt.

As awful as Auburn looks at times, it's most deserving if Florida loses.
