For MU Fans...When is the Braggin Rights (aka Jungle War) this year?

Usually great game to go to and/or watch. Last year MU tried to build a house with the shots they missed and came back to make it competitive.
I know the Illini have won 3 in a row, but this thing usually goes in streaks.

I would think so, that is why it is called the Jungle War by some.
The Arena/Checkerdome for that game was amazing. I like it better than Kiel/Savvis/Ameritrade/Schnuucks/whatever it is called this year.

There is a SAD that night 8:00 CST
We might have a hard hard choice to make

Jungle War? Why is it called that?
Posted on 12/15/16 at 3:11 pm to Eric Nies Grind Time
If you need to be told then you do not need to know why
Posted on 12/15/16 at 3:13 pm to sms151t
So you won't explain why you call it the Jungle War?

I am not the only one that calls it that.
The game was started back as to get an advantage in the "Jungle" as Norm called it; the East and Vashon and Sumner type places.
There are some that think calling it the Jungle War is very offensive, some think it should never be called Braggin Rights, there are some that still refer to it as the Show-Me Classic (those are the really old folks who have blue hair.

Oh ok. I did not even know their rivalry had a name.
Yeah Jungle War does not seem like a very PC term at all. I can understand why people would not use it very much.

The choice is simple: roll both games into one thread.
SAD provided some good memories this year. I think my favorite was the Oregon-Cal extravaganza that went to OT on a Friday night till about 1 am. Man i got drunk watching that. :jump2:

Never heard of "Jungle War". Always been Braggin Rights to me....of the Busch variety. Haven't adjusted to the Bud Light change.

It was coined that by Norm in the initial days of resuming game early 80's and some of the paler subjects of Tigerdom called it that.
ETA

I've never heard it called the "Jungle War" before by any Mizzou fan. It's always been the Braggin Rights games since I've been around.

Mizzou fan and St. Louisan who's never heard the term Jungle War.
Must be something Norm Stewart said. Don't think anyone says that anymore.
Arch rivalry game and braggin' rights is all I've ever heard it called.
I'm trying to pretend basketball doesn't exist right now. Thanks for the reminder.

Ive lived in or around St Louis my entire life and I've never heard it called that.
