But to answer your question, it's like apples and oranges. Coach Bryant was the greatest in his era. Coach Saban is considered the best coach during his time.

Alabama has been very lucky to have had several great coaches - Coach Wade, Coach Thomas, Coach Bryant, Coach Stallings, and Coach Saban. Coach Saban will go down in Bama history as one of the greatest. If he wins a few more championships, he may even pass Coach Bryant.

You can kiss my arse if you don't think he cheated. Vaught did it, Neyland did it, and so did every successful program.

At UA Coach Bryant had 13 CC's and 6 #1's. At UA Coach Saban has 1 CC and 2 #1's. Coach Saban has the most accomplishments present day but in the big picture...not sure if serious.

As an aside, if 'for Bama fans' then go to Alabama board. If you want to hear perspective outside the fambase, then here.

Saban needs 15 more years of dominance and three more championships to catch up with Bryant.

I think in the eyes of some, it may be the case. However, if you were born prior to the 1990s you can't let go of the impact Bryant had on the football program, city, and state.

What would Bryant be doing today if he was still alive?

Clawing at the top of his casket.

Coach Bryant.

Coach Saban is a better X's and O's coach, but guys that played for Coach Bryant, to this day, get choked up when talking about him. He had a way of getting in your soul.

I love having Coach Saban as a coach now, but I don't see guys doing that about Coach Saban 20 years from now.

For fans over 40 it's Bear. I have family that hold a church like reverence for coach Bryant.

The Bryant cheating crap

I doubt anything was going on at UA than what was going on at a whole lot of other place, probaably close to the norm. Extra tickets to scalp for spending money, part time jobs you really didn't need to show up for, meh. Now when you get to 6 digits for Means...another era and whole different story.
