If McElwain really is a great coach he'll capitalize on his early success and keep his team on the edge. This is the moment that proves his metal. If Florida doesn't keep it going now they never will.

I didn't mean mettle. Mettle means to cope and be resilient. I meant it to be hard, non-pourous and unforgiving = METAL.

I mean tough as nails like like Bear Bryant and Vince Lombardi. Those guys would never let a little success derail them.

If McElwain is the real deal he'll win BIG from now on.

Saban slaughtered Tennessee (the East champions), took arguably the best team in the nation (UGA) into overtime and lost in the waning minutes to the national champions (LSU) in his first season... but also lost to Louisiana-Monroe and Mississippi State.

He had no problem rebounding and even if Florida runs out of gas, that doesn't mean McElwain won't have them competing for titles in a few seasons. I'd say he's already proven his worth as we all know Muschamp would likely be 1-4 at this point.

I agree with you. I don't mean perfection - I mean staying focused and on "edge" all the time - never satisfied with winning a little. I mean becoming a monster that gobbles up everything and everyone every game. It's the attitude and effort of a champion - If McElwain has it we'll see it in every game from now on.

Its good that you crawled back in here after the crap you posted last week...

You are such a good peice of work. Hopefully UF can live up to expectations and make you proud...now kindly go play in traffic.

Other than McElwain's big ugly yellow teeth, he seems like a good coach. Tough to watch him speak though without staring and wondering why he can't afford a good dentist to fix his butter tooth look.

Are you really that un-intuitive? I was glad to see FLorida kick Ole Miss' arse. It was a brilliant game plan flawlessly executed by an unknown quantity in McElwain. Nobody knew how that game would play out. McElwain and Nussbaum schemed it perfectly and kept the pressure on for the full 60 minutes completely drilling Ole Miss into the ground. I was making two points in my posts about Florida:

1. I wanted to see how far over the top FLorida fans would go after one big win in 5 years - and they couldn't have gone any further without drowning themselves. THeir reaction was and remains hilarious - exactly what I wanted to see. Funny HEE HEE HAW HAW funny.

2. I want to see if McElwain is a real Kung Foo fighter with the grit and tenacity to go for the throat everytime. I want to know if he's got what it takes to keep his team on the edge - monsters ready to destroy everything in sight every play every game. I hope he is. That's what the SEC is all about and if McElwain has it in him we'll all benefit from the stiffer competition.

Isn't there a minimum age requirement to start threads on this board?
