Very sad. At least you guys have hope for a brighter future. We know it will have to get worse before it gets better.

Oh, stop. Y'all have a built in talent farm down there. Yeah, it's been a little rough, but trust me when I say it's nothing like what we've endured the last six years -- and y'all STILL have a good shot at beating us on Saturday, even though you're down in the dumps.

It won't be nearly as bad for y'all as it was for us.

I don't even know who that is. It looks like Tim Tebow and Rob Lowes' love child.

One of the most misused stats in all of football is comparing winning to rushing stats. You hear all the time, when "insert team" rushes for at least "insert yardage" they win 95% of the time.

People get the cause and effect mixed up. Often a team gets ahead with either rushing, passing or a balance. Then they work to preserve the lead by using a clock-eating ground attack. The larger rushing yards may be the "effect" of being in a lead, rather than the "cause" of winning.

So yeah, sometimes a great rushing attack is the cause of a win, but stats can be misleading.

It's even more strange with the type of offense we run. And hell, we're still getting used to it. But our dink and dunk passing game not only serves as a rushing game it's actually controlled time of possession which is another key aspect of a rushing game. To put it into perspective, we won the 'time of possession battle' against OU despite not rushing a lot.

Rush Offense
Florida - #40 - 201 yards per game - 5.2 YPC
Tennessee - #97 - 126.8 yards per game - 3.36 YPC

Rush defense
Florida - #45t - 128 yards per game allowed - 3.23 YPC
Tennessee - #78 - 169 yards per game allowed - 4.42 YPC

It actually is a pretty even match-up when you look only at the stats:

Pass Offense
Tennessee - #54 - 251.3 yards per game - 6.05 yards per attempt
Florida - #49 - 261.3 yards per game - 6.03 yards per attempt

Pass Defense
Tennessee - #28 - 197.3 yards per game - 6.12 yards per attempt
Florida - #110 - 287.7 yards per game - 8.54 yards per attempt

Oops...maybe not.

If Keanu Neal starts at safety all Worley has to do is take a 5 step drop and throw the ball up for grabs. Neal will be 20 yards off the WR and then he can walk into the endzone.

If the past is any indication of how this game plays out...UF DBs will look like All-Americans this Saturday.
