so if we ran the table and replaced florida without a OOC game and 1 less win you think we have any chance at CFP even if its a minimal hypthetical situation? hell no, now we have 0% chance. Thanks to florida.

If conditions are such that the game can't be played in Gainesville this weekend, how would it be safe for Florida to travel this weekend? How would it be reasonable to ask Florida players and staff to leave their families in an emergency?

The situation sucks, but you can't pin 100% of the blame on Florida. Do they have reason to be glad that they game isn't being played this weekend. No doubt, but they had legitimate reasons for taking the position that they did, as LSU had legitimate reasons for not agreeing to play on November 19.

What a great and original thread.

Doesn't demand originality. Just truth.

That argument is moot. You expected UF to do the same thing.

Not at all. LSU didn't refuse to play this weekend in Gainesville.

And LSU refuses to give up an OOC home game to put it back on the schedule.

And most if you schmuck said this game wasn't going to get cancelled.

LSU and baton rouge would lose Millions. Florida will be covered by insurance, unless the sec and UF want to pay the buy out of both games, why should LSU screw themselves financially?

Yeah because the town is going to be packed this weekend. So much revenue lost. Stop being willfully ignorant.

LSU did in 05. And made up their game against north Texas at end of season and still played in the sec championship game. No byes.

they said 24 hours ago that "the game will be played in Gainesville" LSU fans were screaming concern about this hurricane all week. Had a decision been made yesterday when it was supposed to they couldve traveled to Mobile or Baton Rouge today without a problem. Also it was offered for the game to be played Sunday or Monday long after the storm has passed. Florida once again said no. Florida is to blame for this absolutely no question.

Who's gonna reimburse the restaurants in Baton Rouge for lost home game?

Not to mention the poor L5U fans selling their tickets for $6.00 on Stub Hub.

Chances of us losing to South Alabama might be higher than losing to Florida so maybe this is a win for us.

They knew it would take a miracle to reschedule this game that why they didnt care.

And yet it doesn't. Nothing at all miraculous about playing in November.

So, let's say you are on the Florida coaching staff. Your proposal was that Coach X tell his wife, "Honey, we're leaving Thursday to go play football in Baton Rouge on Saturday. No idea when we'll be back. Hope you ride out this storm OK."

Yeah, that's totally reasonable. Can't understand why Florida didn't jump on that opportunity.

Reimburse them for what? Florida players are gonna have plenty of time to be out and about enjoying the crystal clear sky and beautiful weather.

Got an extra $3.5millon, cum jar?

Realize it's the payout to So Al PLUS home revenue.
