Dont know how true, but someone earlier said No. cant play while waiting the appeal becasuse Florida would possiblly have to forfeit games if he loses the appeal. Dont know for sure the answer but just repeating hearsay.

No. And the things they will consider in an appeal are very limited.

ESPN had a former enforcement official from an out of conference school on & when asked this question he said no. The NFL permits that because all of its suspensions get caught up in the legal process & that can & has taken mths to a yr to resolve. The NCAA does not allow any player to play while appealing a suspension. Clear cut according to this official.

It's not a matter of "Coach Mac running a tight ship". This is an NCAA violation & he had nothing to do with it once the NCAA got notice of the banned substance. And it was noted earlier in this thread that Grier's father is a body builder. Enough said right there, but putting on 30 or so pounds in 20 mths should have caugth the attention of the Gator's training staff, as that is far from a normal weight gain for someone of Grier's build.

Damn, wtf would he have played like had his "performance" not been "enhanced?"

How did the NCAA get involved in this and not just UF suspending him in-house? Was he busted through the source of the PEDs? SO MANY QUESTIONS

Not sure if its been posted, but since it was likely a random drug test by the NCAA, and he failed an NCAA drug test, Florida has no jurisdiction and cannot handle it "in-house". Only if it was a UF drug test that he failed could they have done that.

So you should all save the "McElwain is doing the right thing " comments, because he has no choice, and they're apparently going to appeal the decision anyways.

Well UF, now you all have to win with a backup QB. Don't worry, though. LSU's been doing it for years.

They are appealing for the suspension to only be for the rest of this season and not the first six games of next.

Not too worried we've beaten top 5 teams in Death Valley with less experienced QBs than Treon.

Well that stinks. I don't like to see this kind of thing go down for any team. Even the Florida Gators. UF has proved that they belong in the SEC Championship and I think they will still make it. No offense to Mizzou but I am tired of seeing the SEC East won by default vs a team that got the big wins and took the title.
