Agreed. When I've watched COPS if someone is pulled over driving someone else's car and there is either drugs or a weapon in the car they all get arrested. Possession is 9/10ths of law kinda thing.

This isn't FSU. Although the sarcastic barb was well picked up.
Yeah, FSU only rapes. Serial murder is more the Gators' thing.

He didn't commit it while on campus.

Didn't continue to play after stuff like shoplifting either.

Oh and 38 - 20 or whatever we beat you by in one of our worst years ever.

I've always been told that this is a reason not to drive another person's vehicle unless you really trust them, because you have no idea what they have inside.

Cut Mac some slack.it will take him a year or so to take out the trash.
He gets his players in and UF will be ok.

Some schools? Non students, adults and anyone who is charged with driving w/o a license arent jailed...so you obviously are not going to law school I take it. They are issued a citation....traffic violation man. Its dismissed when you show up in court with a new license. They do that for everyone.

As for the small amount of weed and odor...cops have the discretion to not charge or issue a citation if multiple people are in car and there is no proof who possessed it. That happens all the time outside of campus life. Especially when car is owned by a another party not present.

Now...is it good judgment? No. Is it something that warrants being kicked off the team? Hell no. Should he be drug tested right now? Yes. But lets face it...pot is part of the college culture and a lot of athletes would not be around if kicked off team for 1st or even second offenses dealing with pot.

And I don't believe Treon is the answer to the future...but not ready to let him loose before things shake out....he was a true frosh afterall and no true qb frosh doesn't struggle in the SEC and he didn't even have spring practice to get prepped. Lets see what happens when spring rolls around.

not true at all. This is the first I have ever heard of this ever happening. Not saying it hasn't ever happened before, but I highly doubt this "happens all the time". Normally, if no one confesses to the drugs in the vehicle, everyone takes the charge for it.

And I'm pretty sure driving without a license is an arrestable offense as well. Not 100% sure on that one, but these were some lenient arse cops.

Doesn't sound right. So, if you want to transport drugs in Florida, you can just borrow someone else's vehicle to avoid prosecution?

It's a misdemeanor offense. I believe a couple of UGA players were hauled to the precinct for this offense and the AJC blew it up.

All I've heard is it was 2 small bags. You have no clue how much that means was in there. And most people get either arrested or everyone in the car gets in trouble. Cops don't "do it all the time." I'm fairly certain quite a few at UGA have been arrested for this as well.

We even suspended a player for admitting he smoked pot even with no evidence.

And he was supposed to be our answer at QB? Doesn't seem that he makes wise decisions, on or off the field. Time for the new coach to make his first tough decision on what kind of players we need at UF.

Agree wholeheartedly. Personally feel that TH's indiscretions and being suspended is partly responsible for the LSU loss which added to the pile which costed Boom his job.

If I was Coach McElwain, I would seriously consider removing this cancer and starting fresh with Grier. What has Harris done? Hit a few deep balls?

I would be more concerned about the two bags of weed, that the NVDL ticket. Uf UF had any integrity, they would have immediately drug tested him and dealt with the results of that test. My guess is that he would be positive.

The other question is Whose car was it? Is it tied to the football team in any way. Common practice for drug dealers in florida is to use a rental car when you are moving product. That way if you get caught, the car isn't seized by the cops. Also, just like this, it is more difficult to tie drugs/guns to the occupants in the car.

I made huge drug bust on a guy last year and we found a kilo of powder Cocaine and a loaded Glock under the seat. The stupid Grand Jury would not indict him because his finger prints were not on the drugs or the gun. He walked.

My cousin is 23, drives all the time and has never gotten her drivers license. She visited for a month, wanted to drive one of my cars that I immediately said no. I kept offering to pay and take her to DMV but she never would go. Very unusual. I got my license the day I turned 16. I was there 30 minutes before they opened.

How the frick does a 19ish year old not have a driver's license at any point in their life? What has he done for 4 years?

This is what I was thinking. He will probably be gone in the next year and a half

You might be surprised how many don't have them. I sat in Nashville and listened to Chance Warmack say in a live interview that he went most of his time at Alabama without a license...in fact, he may never have gotten one at all the whole time he was there.
