Michigan (Durkin): 7.6PPG (2nd)
Florida (Collins): 16.6PPG (20th)
Auburn (Muschamp): 25.4PPG (75th)

Should Gus have hired Durkin over Muschamp?

I liked Durkin and was hoping he'd be kept on staff.

You clearly don't understand the Muschamp curse is infecting your program now.

Lol muschamp is the best DC on either staff. His players are doing great at uf

They sure are. Which shows how massive of balls he sucked as a coach, as a developer of players, and as a play caller.

Our defense has been a dumpster fire for a while. Give him a year or two before you judge his performance.

No. You can sour grapes all over Muschamp if you want, but right now we have a talent issue. That doesn't have anything to do with Muschamp. In a couple of years if for some reason he is still here, then it will be a Muschamp issue.

Do you think he or any of the staff will be around that long? Auburn could be looking at a 4-8 season, 6-6 at best.

Dan Quinn and Durkin's defense did just fine at UF.

You weren't as bad last year (#66) as Texas A&M was (#104). So far this year A&M is up to #63 while Auburn is down to #93. I don't think you need 2 years to make an impact. Gus turned Auburn from the #118 offense in 2013 to #11 in 2013.

Against all reasonable explanations yes. Or at least you can't acknowledge that he did make your defense very good and move on.

The Defense at Auburn was expected to be a work in progress... then losing Lawson and Josh Holsey (starting DB) was tough. 5 or more Freshmen are playing significant amounts of time. Except for the LSU game, I felt the Defense has played OK and is actually better than last years defense. Auburn fans were not expecting miracles, we understood our talent level.

The Offense SUCKS. That is our problem, last year we lost games after scoring 38 (TAMU) and 44 (Bama).

Michigan had a really good defense last year. They just had no offense at all so the D go worn down etc

They were top 10 last year

The thing is, he didn't.

Florida has had good defenses for 25+ years with an exception to one or two years. Muschamp didn't "make" defense at UF. The athletes and players we recruit from Florida makes the defense always great here.

He didn't really make them anything, our defenses had already been very good in the Meyer years. But I guess we can be happy that was one area of Florida football he didn't completely destroy.
