Florida used to play Miami every year. From 1938-1987 (50 seasons) Florida led the series 25-24. Jeremy Foley became the Associate AD in 1986 and ironically, the series was cancelled after the 1987 game. It was NOT a coincidence that the rivalry was cancelled after Miami had won 7 of 10 from 1978-1987.
They have played only 6 times in the last 30 seasons with 2 of those being bowl games that UF had no choice in scheduling. Miami has won 5 of those 6 and 12 of the past 16 meetings. Foley has a long history of avoiding difficult football games.

All my life I thought LSU fans were full of obnoxious idiots. Then I joined the Rant the week of the Mizzou game.
Which confirmed my original suspicions... but add Mizzou and Florida to that list.
My best friends are Ole Miss and Alabama fans... I don't think we've ever been this bad at trash talk.

Funny, LSU fans every year would complain that they had it too hard because they had to play UF every year and it wasn't fair. LSU campaigned to open up the scheduling so other West teams would have to play UF each year.

Not this LSU fan. I've always enjoyed the LSU vs Florida game. It's generally been a good competition. This year however, Florida shite the bed. Well, there's always next year for you guys to do better I guess. Good luck. See you in BR next year.
