They certainly have some big targets on their backs, but I think the talent and experience UF has right now will be unstoppable UNLESS they just come out and lay an egg in one game. It's def theirs to lose.

I would presume we'd be preseason number one, except for west coast pollers putting usc up there.
It would be nice to actually go into a game ranked number one for a change. I can't remember the last time that was the case, probably 2001...

Florida stumbling and not getting to the national title has always been in the back of my mind. And every time I mention it, I get the same responses that this thread already has. Which only further's my point.

I'm def not predicting they stumble, but kids will always be kids. And if every time you go out or turn on the tv or visit TD and all you see and hear is how you're easily going to win another NC and you won't lose this week, nothing can stop you, etc, I don't see how this can help your case. But as said earlier, tebow should keep everyone in check.

Was this a dig on the USC team from '04?

That was my guess, except it wasn't their first "natty" as he said.

The 04s are how Florida fans refer to the basketball team of Horford, Noah, Brewer who were freshmen in 2004. The natty refers to their first national championship. I think he's saying that people doubted that Florida could repeat in basketball.

That's my best translation fellas.

As for this thread, UF has never finished a season undefeated, so to say that we will definitely do it this year is a bold, bold statement. We have had some damn good teams that didn't go undefeated. I think this team is as good (experience, talent, leadership) as any we've had. Whether that translates into an undefeated season, I don't know. I'd like to think it would, though.

I agree, You have to be great and lucky to go undefeated, we all know the best team does not always win.. It seems the team that plays with a chip on their shoulder is the one that usually performs the best..Which is hard to have after you have had success

Which is exactly why I think Ole Miss or LSU will win the SECCG next season. OM because even though we might be ranked fairly high, most teams, fan bases, etc still don't give the Rebs much credit. LSU has the chance because of their not so stellar season last year so the Tigers are out to prove something. Thus, both team playing with a chip on their shoulders and giving that bit extra of incentive to play hard and win.

not with Charlie Strong coaching their D:
quote:

“The only guy on our defense who can say that he’s without a doubt a hands-down starter is Spikes,” Strong said. “We have some depth and we have some competition and we expect that will keep guys hungry.”

LINK

Charlie thinks their defense might actually be better:
quote:

We have a good group of guys but they can’t forget what they have done to get to this point. We can get better.”

Sure wish Charlie had been in Baton Rouge to mention this to our defense last year!

Yea, I don't know what to make of Ole Miss, but at the end of the year ya'll were one of the top 5 teams, not sure how the loss of your big guys will effect the team. With one of your best seasons in years will the team keep its edge??

In the east will georgia ever in their history over achieve??

I don't expect them to lose again till TT leaves. The Ole Miss game was a fluke last year.

If that happens TT will go down as the best college football player ever (even if he is not)
I still think zero u and their jackass coach will make a run..

If UF is in the SECCG next year I would not bet against them. Arkansas seems like the logical choice for the yearly western division loss, but then again the state of Mississippi has been kryptonite to gators over the years and Mullen does know this team pretty well. If the gators lose it will be because they laid an egg.

As far as a OU is concerned I would not be surprised to see them go wire to wire number 2 and for there to be a rematch in the National Championship of last year. Both teams return way too much and OU will not get soft against texas this year. A rematch with a healthy Murray could make that game interesting.

If the gators go wire to wire we will be the first team to win a championship in every major venue. 96-sugar 2006-fiesta 2008-orange 2009-Rose
