This far out no one will take it for granted. As the game approaches fans will def. be like we can do this, we will do this, it's gonna happen. But a lot of ours are still like "believe it when I see it."

VN may provide you with one this year but anymore the threads like that go like this: One optimist says 'this is the year/we have a chance' 30 pessimists tear into that poster with variations of 'are you crazy/we will never beat florida/stop embarrassing yourself' etc.
It's weird but Florida has a psychological hold on us no other team has as far as us being convinced we're doomed. We are convinced that it is impossible to win. IOW, if you put a bad HS team in UF jersey on gameday and an NFL team in UT jerseys the UF team would still win (and yes part of me believes that too).

I usually stay out of the football forum there. When football season picks up, especially, every idiot on the planet shows up.

Florida just isn't the program that they use to be. It's sad to see a team that use to be a dominant factor in the SEC just go to shite. Hopefully, their morale can be boosted, so they can show some competition this year.

You just pointed out the absolutely worst case scenario. I think most UF fans just want to see some competence on the offensive side of the ball and to win 2 of 3 out of UT, UGA, and FSU. It's definitely possible this upcoming season.

I wasn't creating a scenario as much as giving the current perception and list some issues that contribute to the low expectations. Having said that, if UF beats 2/3 of UGA, UT, FSU, then I'd expect that Ole Miss, Missouri, LSU, South Carolina are also on the table. That puts you in the 8-10 win area and possibly contending for the east. Solely because of the coaching change, that's not my prediction, but I don't know enough to rule it out.

It really is. To be honest, people would enjoy our conference a lot more if they took the time to learn about and understand the histories between various schools. A major part of what makes this conference great is its history and the rivalries between teams.
