Agreed.

Let's add Florida State to the SEC East and make them LSU's permanent East opponent. Then Auburn can have Florida.

Of course, we'd have to have 2 perm opponents in order for it to work because Auburn HAS to play Georgia.

I could fap to this

The 08 team was definitely better than 06.

Edit: And y'all were the better team last year.

I have mighty respect for the Gators. Too much talent on those teams to take lightly ever.

The worst arse beatings I recall were Florida teams under spurrier who came into Auburn on more than one occasion and hung it on us. Of course we made him throw that visor a few times too!

The Florida games in the 80's and 90's were fricking legendary. The 1983 game in particular had more future NFL players on the field at once than ever before or since. (of course I think both sides were paying some players then, so it was possibly a pro game already.)

Yeah, and our 2008 team was much worse than our 2011 team, but we didn't play that year so I threw that out

Although according to UGA, we started playing them in 1905.

Nah... 1989 Iron Bowl was louder.

Probably tied for 2nd with 2010 LSU though.

Oh, well, I got that from Alligator Army

When the SEC ended the annual meetings between Florida and Auburn, the Gators had faced the Tigers as many times as they had played Georgia. The two schools are only 277 miles apart, making Auburn the Gators closest conference rival. (In fact, if a line were drawn to divide the SEC between east and west, Auburn would be in the east.) Auburn is also the Gators oldest rival.

4-3 since the year 2000.

Doesn't change that you were surely convinced you could guilt trip us for "being fortunate enough" to not play them in the 90s. Turns out you had no fricking clue what you were talking about!

44-38-2 all time

Auburn belongs in the East and everyone knows it (even if they won't admit it). We should be playing UF, UGA, and UT every year.

I refuse to stop my bitching and crying about this at least until we get the Florida game back. I'm fine with UT being a casualty of progress, but dammit, the Florida game has just as much tradition & history as the UGA game

Well, not just as much, but it's close

One of my all-time favorite games was '01 when Duval kicked the FG to beat #1 UF in JHS and everyone stormed the field. I missed being hit in the head by the falling goal posts by about 2 feet. Would have been even better if the a-hole cops hadn't unleashed pepper spray on the students.

I just realized we have a winning record against every team in the current East.

0-1 vs. Mizzou
