I know you guys are pretty young here. I've seen some Florida fans say this is a bad unit, but I'm guessing they played much better vs OM.

What's the overall thought on this unit?

Much better than originally thought, especially pass blocking. Nkemdiche had 1 solo tackle for the entire game. Mike Summers is i think the 2nd lowest paid assistant coach on the staff, which is a travesty.

You cut that voodoo crap out, unless this is a serious comment.

I will say: We have three true freshmen in rotation at OL, but they are doing phantasmagorically better than expected. I think they're better at pass-protect than run-protect at this point, and we'll probably become a throwing team by the end of the year. It just hasn't been there all season, although Taylor did have a good game against Ole Miss.

Young a couple of them are elite talents- Ivey is basically the next Tunsil type guy (hopefully without the drama) but young.

They are doing exactly what I thought they would do...but maybe a game or two sooner. I remember Spurrier had a depleted squad in 1992 and he started two true frosh on the OL...we got crap beat out of us early...but then the OL gelled and so did the offense and we won out. UT had beaten us early and appeared to be front runner for the inaugural SECCG....they choked and we ended up in the first ever SECCG.

Our OL is improving and by years end will be even better than now. Run blocking is harder cause its more physical but pass protection has improved. Martez Ivey, the # 1 recruit in ESPNs recruiting ranking has only started a few games but he is a beast...Soph Davis Sharpe is holding his own. True frosh Fred Johnson & Tyler Jordan are playing a lot of snaps. Only 1 senior and next year OL will be a strength.

He gets paid so low because he is still getting paid from an old contract. Believe it ends this year, he will see a big jump in pay.

Summers have been an outstanding coach. It was the only coach retained by Mac. OL has been a pleasant surprise, considering the inexperience.
They are getting better with each game, with better competition. That is very encouraging because our season hinges on OL and QB.

I watched the OM replay. There was a portion of the game where OM was getting into the backfield quite a bit. Dropping the RB for a loss and getting pressure on Grier (to his credit he was still getting the ball out), but seemed to clean it up afterwards.

I hadn't really seen any of your other games, but you guys looked quite good against OM. Grier was impressive, nice group of playmakers, and your defense can really run. As fast or faster than ours and I really hadn't seen that from any other teams this year.

Going to be quite the challenge.

Florida speed brah. It kills.

Seriously though. The other UF fans pretty much answered your question. Young and a little better than we thought. They were expected to be our most concerning unit and they seem to be over delivering. Given up 10 sacks and on D have 18 sacks. The 10 sacks have resulted in a loss of 47 yards.

Missouri has 13 sacks against a bit lower quality schedule - no flame intended. SOS between the two teams is dramatically different as one would imagine based on your front loading of cupcakes.

The OL did seem to improve greatly against Ole Miss as the game went on. Mac tries to mix it up with plenty of plays where the ball is out quickly to help them out.

Still having a tough time getting the running game going.

Oline is playing better than expected and a lot has to do with Macs play calling to take pressure off of them with quick throws. But I for one thought we would be in trouble in that area.

UF is super talented at Tackle with Sharpe, Ivey, and Fred Johnson. The last two are true freshman. Thurman has been our best interior OL. If you watched the Ole Miss game the moment the high snaps stopped was when Thurman moved to Center.

No flame inferred. You guys are good, no doubt. One thing about the Mizzou DL is they have a ton of TFL to go with the sacks. We play the run quite well also.

I still think that is a match up we can and really have to exploit to win this game. Like I said though, even when OM was getting to Grier he did a great job of getting the ball out. We've got to get to him a bit quicker and either get him on the ground or force some mistakes.
